CRIKEY... with the passing of Steve Irwin day here in Australia, the country celebrates our very own wildlife warriors legacy of animal protection, he hoped that others learned how to protect, care and realise that the an!mals on this earth depend on us for their future. He was a man that put his money where his mouth was. He bought up large parcels of land, mostly sugar cane farms and turned them back into wildlife refuges and environmental bridges for our wildlife.. his park uses the money to rescue, rehabilitate and regenerate threatened species.. l was never much a big fan of him till l heard of all these things he did later after his passing, he was just an ocker aussie in khakis and dessert boots, dicking around the bush, fondling critters.. and l always thought he would be eaten by a crocodile one day, after seeing one bite his hand, he was wreckless, yet caring, funny and ridiculous, but most of all, he loved his family, he loved the Australian bush and all things that lived in it... good on him for giving back to the things he believed so strongly about... not many people in this world do this much good in one lifetime and his short and epic life has made a great impact upon Australia and its wildlife *lix*

Steve Irwin "The Crocodile Hunter" was all I watched growing up. I really learned alot from him and his inspiration, is part of why I love learning about wildlife, plants and everything to do with nature. :x

You sweetly nursed a koala bear back to health? Was the poor little guy or girlie a burn victim?

A very nice tribute to someone I wish I had had the honor to meet. Nice that Australia honors him with a day. Well done!

Hi Schatzi, just today read your Blog about a Steve Irwin Day! Awesome! Gonna mark it red in my calendar 📅 from now on. What a great dude!!! I hope I don't sound like an ass but when he died at such a young age, I said, "Thank God he didn't die in a car wreck, or from cancer or some other terrible disease. He died doing the thing he loved most!
By licksipsuckit [Ignore] at 20,Nov,17 13:54
