What makes cocks curve?

So as i look though all the pics of cocks on here, i was wondering what makes some cocks are curved and others are not? Is it genetics or the way a cock is kept in your shorts? Fill me in.

Dear Kate ( responsible as you are for a contribution to my cock curve ! )
Well mine curves to the left .. and I am sure it didnt when I was younger .. I put it down to right handed wanking which has the tendency to bend your cock to the left ...also, if you are right handed, when you have intercourse you tend to thrust slightly more to the left and vice versa if lefthanded . All this over a long period takes its toll in shaping ones cock.

I recently read that there is a strong correlation between which way you "tuck' your dick when you are young and how much and in which direction it goes in later in life... I always tucked mine down... So mine curves elegantly down... Thank god because it really makes girls go crazy!! Check me out and see what I mean.

The way the cock sits in your underwear is def a big factor, also the type of underwear you wear. Doubt its genetic tho.

Interesting....

I did used to think that curvature was due to 'damage' that got inflicted when one was young by underwear or by urinating with your penis pulled out of the leg of your underpants etc. However, now i'm not so sure.

There are of course, different types of curve. Those to left or right are probably just another instance of how non-symetric most peoples bodies are. It is well known and documented that the vast majority of people have odd sided faces for example,..in fact some people have completely assymetric faces where either side could have come from different folks! Lots of people have a 'defect' one side,..a shorter leg or hip difference that makes their clothes have to be altered,..NOT an actual deformaty,..just a difference.

The penis is actually quite suscetiple to this 'non-symetrical' difference as it is constructed of two main cylinders (there is a third underneath that carries teh tubing and is connected to the glans),..left and right, that contain the spongy cells which fill with blood to erect the shaft. These are called the Carnavosa and ANY difference between one and the other will effectively give a different erection from one side to the other. Also, if one side is able to fill larger than the other side then a 'bend' MUST happen because the shorter side will pull the longer side into a curve.

An up-curve seems to be very common and is probably due to riginal race/tribal genetics. I read a book some time back which purported to show three main types of penis shape. however, one of these was a 'bottle' shape which it claimed went back to the Vikings (funny how all the weird genetic stuff is always the fault of the Vikings!)...however, after looking at this site for a couple of years I don't remember ever seeing one here....

Great question!

Do a little research via Google....penis curve, penis bend, etc. Of course, don't blindly believe "everything" you read, and consider the source.

There are a lot of myths.....masturbation, underwear, whatever.

As "oldbugle" pointed out, our bodies are not perfectly symmetrical. I remember reading somewhere that studies have shown that the majority of penises curve slightly to the left, and the left testicle generally actually sits slightly forward of the right one...in other words there is a modest "twist" towards the left for the majority of the male population. It is simply how our bodies develop and grow. Some of it might be coded within our DNA (which also twists around on itself), and some of it might be influenced by environmental factors. Our brains also generally develop differently for the left vs right halves. It is just the way things are.

A SEVERE bend is likely a result of "Peyronie's Disease", which is a buildup of plaque in the supporting tissue. This can sometimes be very painful and requires surgery.

All penises have some curve. Some more than others. It's perfectly natural. There are two parallel bodies of erectile tissue in the penis know as the corpora cavernosa. When a man gets turned-on, they fill with blood.... like a couple of "penile pontoons." Like most symmetrical features of the human body (e.g.- your ears, eyes, breasts, labia buttocks, hands, feet, etc.) these two bodies of erectile tissue are not exactly identical. They are slightly different from one another in size and shape. So.... when they become engorged with blood (which causes an erection) they don't inflate uniformly. One is a little bigger than the other. They're slightly different in shape and hardness from one another. This causes the penis to take on a curved shape.

As we get older, our normally soft and supple body tissues often become less supple and more fibrous. The spongy tissue in the penis is no exception. Development of fibrous tissue in the penis alters and inhibits blood flow and good "inflation." The more fibrous tissue developed in one of the corpora cavernosa of the penis, the more profound a curve you will develop in your erection.

Damage to the penis from trauma, surgery, etc., causes scarring. Scar tissue is very fibrous. Scar tissue inside the penis will invariably cause a noticeable curve. Severe curvature of the penis due to scar and/or fibrous tissue is known as Peyronie's disease. You can "google" that term or look it up in Wikipedia.

Over the years, my own member has taken on a little bit of a curve to the left. At age 49, that's to be expected. I'm just glad that it still gets good 'n hard every day!

I hope my reply was helpful! Cheers!

Gee kind of thought this might get a few more answers. Guess everyone is to busy answering the "what do you think of my cock" questions.
By mailroute at 12,Nov,09 01:11 Hide
I heard it had something to do with the ureathea (please forgive the spelling) not growing evenly which makes some cocks pull more to one side or down or up. and in extreme cases it requires surgery to correct the problem.

Wow I didn't know that. Thanks

as long as I remember mine was curved upwards
Kate: do you have any idea which direction of curve is the one women likes the best?
By GrateKate at 13,Nov,09 22:00 Hide
I have never been with a guy that had a curved cock so can't say for sure, but i would think and upward curve would feel best as it would hit the g-spot better.
By qwertyasd at 14,Nov,09 11:07 Hide
you mean something like mine?

By curved at 13,Nov,09 10:58 Hide

By swingz02 at 14,Nov,09 13:08 Hide
