Is there anything at all that we may share,
Though miles and miles apart we be?
Surely, there’s something we can see
Simultaneously;
Ah! It is the MOON!
I’ll set my watch and you set yours, if you dare,
And at the time appointed, if you’ll agree,
Gaze into the sky’s unclouded canopy
Synchronously;
There comes a full MOON!
I’ll think of you, and you of me, from there.
We’ll tune our inner ears in harmony
And begin conversing by telepathy
Congruently,
All we may commune!
“Share the MOON,” reflection does declare.
“As MOON to earth a companion be,”
“By Love’s Decree fulfil life’s destiny,”
“Concomitantly,”
“And then you’ll taste ... the Honey-MOON!”
