Been into shaving for a while now just expanded to shaving everything from the waist down and trimmin everything waist up real short,It is a great feeling to be hairless after so many years of all that fur,feels so much better and is a lot easier to help with staying clean.
I Think you should just go for it, I'm sure you will enjoy it emencly and If not all you need to do is let it grow back, good luck with your decision and If you do please be sure to let us all see
