Hi Alex, please don't leave. The best way to deal with the sort of people you mention is to COMPLETELY IGNORE them. I have had a nasty woman moaning minny neighbour for the past four and a half years, rude, thinks we should all kow-tow to her but I just ignored her and complained to my landlords and although it took a long while she is now being evicted. The thing is, these sad individuals, like that neighbour, have no friends and can't stand seeing other people happy, they are also attention seekers and, again as with that woman upstairs, the moment you retaliate, then they have won. Ignoring them will piss them off a lot more. Don't let these people **** you off this site, you have genuine friends here who will miss you and why let the sad-ohs win? As Jeni-Talia said far more succinctly and in less words than I could ever manage, brush them to one side and hold your head up high and if the people who have upset you don't like it, then they can lump it.
