| Growing up my life has been dominated, no, not dominated,,influenced by the three men that have been my mentors, lovers, and friends,,,obviously, one was not a lover. These men are my Dad, my uncle and my ex-husband.
The music i like is a combination of their tastes and pieces I've found liking. I know there's other forums with similar topics,,anyone can post here but my postings are for my enjoyment,,music makes me forget some hard times...kisses to all |

Garth Brooks is one of my favorite C&W stars. I don't like most of the modern C&W but this one, "Friends in Low Places" is a favorite.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain

Luckenbach, Texas (Back To The Basics Of Love)
Waylon Jennings
The only two things in life that make it worth livin'
Is guitars that tune good and firm feelin' women
I don't need my name in the marquee lights
I got my song and I got you with me tonight
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love
Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin'
Got us feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys
Between Hank Williams' pain songs and
Newberry's train songs and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain
So baby, let's sell your diamond ring
Buy some boots and faded jeans and go away
This coat and tie is choking me
In your high society you cry all day
We've been so busy keepin' up with the Jones
Four car garage and we're still building on
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love
Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us feudin'
Like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams' pain songs and
Newberry's train songs and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain
Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
Willie and Waylon and the boys
This successful life we're livin's got us feudin'
Like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams' pain songs
And Jerry Jeff's train songs and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas there ain't nobody feelin' no pain

PENELOPE CRUZ/THE GIPSY KING DOING VOLARE/PAUL WALKER
Performed by Johnny Horton
Well, a Cherokee chief as he dances along
He does an Indian boogie to a white man's song
Singin' hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina
A well a hey ho a lina, wup wup a witten a yeah
Well, he dances over here and he dances over there
And he keeps on a dancin' everywhere
Singin' hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina
A well a hey ho a lina, wup wup a witten a yeah
Well, he dances on the hill and he dances on the rock
But he keep on shakin' that tomahawk
Singin' hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina
A well a hey ho a lina, wup wup a witten a yeah
Well, he sings to the hills and he sings to the clouds
And he keep on singin' so big and proud
A now hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina
A well a hey ho a lina, wup wup a witten a yeah
He's a Cherokee chief as a you might know
And he keeps on sittin' singing nuven-yo
A now hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina
A well a hey ho a lina, wup wup a witten a yeah
Well, a Cherokee chief as he dances along
He does an Indian boogie to a white man's song
Singin' hey ho a lina, hey ho a lina

That was a funny clip.

Pity She blacklisted you and everyone else and won't get the chance to see the clip.
Good then. Someone of her caliber and disposition would certainly do that.
It really is kind of sad and pathetic, actually.
Sure, Twits is in her mid 70's and has issues with dementia and alcoholism, but watching her dance like a geriatric monkey in the Forum just to get a pat on her addled, little head from the Sea Cow and its crew is depressing.
Would someone PLEASE pay a little attention to her?

Apparently, there are some members that think they are "Kool Kids". HA! Maybe their boss thinks they're "kool", me, I can speak only for myself, I think otherwise.
I ANSWERED THIS WAY:
TWOWARMTTS2
Hey, I'm one of the "Kool Kids". Can you name this "Boss"? I get tired of being told I'm under someone's orders. I'd like to know who is paying me. Why is it so hard for people to believe I'm a whore and I'm nasty all on my own. BTW...if we are the Kool Kids, then your 10 plus yr old group must be the "The Creepy Assh*le" group

**** Louie (one of my favorites)
She was black as the night
Louie was whiter than white
Danger, danger when you taste brown suga'
Louie fell in love overnight
Nothing bad, it was good
Louie had the best girl he could
When he took 'er home
To meet her mama and papa
Louie knew just where he stood
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Lou I
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie you're gonna cry
There he stood in the night
Knowing what's wrong from what's right
He took her home to meet his mama and papa
Man, he had a terrible fight
Louie nearly caused a scene
Wishin' it was a dream
Ain't no diff'rence between black and white
Brothers, you know what I mean
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Lou I
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie you're gonna cry
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Lou I
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie you're gonna cry
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Louie Louie Lou I
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie you're gonna cry
Louie Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Lou I

Al fondo el Corazón tenía una herida
Sufría, sufría
Le dije no es nada, más mentía
Lloraba, lloraba
Por ti, se ha hecho tarde, es ya noche
No me detengas, déjame ir

Yeah, that's a good one. I like that whole album. I neglected to mention Hank Williams in my reply. Honky Tonk Blues and Your Cheatin' Heart are my favorites. Back to Waylon, I highly recommend the entire "Music Man" album only registered users can see external links.

I have no idea why it appeared twice!
I spent the last couple Saturday nights listening to the Grand ole opery on WSM online.I used to listen to it years ago on the old Am wood cabinet radio but got out of the habit.
But when I turned it on last Saturday and listened for the first time in years,I was like,What the hell is that they are calling country? SHEESH>
