Growing up my life has been dominated, no, not dominated,,influenced by the two men that have been my mentors, lovers, and friends,,,obviously, one was not a lover. These men are my Dad, and my uncle. The music I like is a combination of their tastes and pieces I've found liking. I know there's other forums with similar topics,,anyone can post here but my postings are for my enjoyment,,music makes me forget some hard times...kisses to all

Chuck Berry--You Never Can Tell

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53
They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate the anniversary
It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely mademoiselle
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison does it for me. A landmark country music album.

I noticed the old thread had a comment about Waylon Jennings from you. I copied the post for you

The original live from the prison

When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don't ever play with guns,"
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die,
When I hear that whistle blowin',
I hang my head and cry.

Garth Brooks is one of my favorite C&W stars. I don't like most of the modern C&W but this one, "Friends in Low Places" is a favorite.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain

I too love that by Garth. The Country music these days is nothing like the great Country music from the old days.

I joke that C&W today lost the twang,,,what happen to Hank Williams, the real one or his contemporaries.

Oh yes, I agree. I like the new guys, Luke Bryan, and the rest, but they have nothing on the greats like Hank Williams.

Oh I could name many I like. Would take awhile...George Jones. So many great ones back when Country music was genuine.

As you like. I had another thread and lost it when I changed accounts. I use it to cool down. Every one is welcome to post here..
