Just heard the sad news that the genius who was Stephen Sondheim passed away at the age of 91 on 26.11.21. His most popular song will, I suppose, always be "Send In the Clowns" from "A Little Night Music" which I love although my favourite is "Not While I'm Around", a haunting ballad from "Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street". He composed tons of stuff as well as all the lyrics for "West Side Story" and "Gypsy", from the latter giving the one-and-only Ethel Merman a real "belter" with "Everything's Coming Up Roses". He really was a TRUE MUSICAL GREAT. R.I.P. Stephen
