Very sad news but 89 was a good innings. I saw "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" at the cinema when it first came out in 1969, a great film and hard to believe its 56 years old now. B.J. Thomas, who passed away in 2021 aged 78, greatly added to its enjoyment with his rendition of Burt Bacharach's and Hal David's "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head", one of my all-time favourites of their songs. I also liked Robert in "The Way We Were" with Barbra Streisand in 1972 and with Paul Newman again in "The Sting" in 1973 with its great piano rag "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin (1868-1917). RIP Robert.
He died sad, knowing the current fate of the US. He was known for his extensive work as a political activist where he was a champion of environmentalism, Native American and indigenous people's rights, and LGBT only registered users can see external links
