On to your question. No, there is no one reference I can give you to back up what I said about porn performers. But the idea that most (indeed, virtually all) are doing it because they want to is a conclusion I have drawn from years of observation. So what have I observed?

One obvious item is the popularity of this very site and it's s-I-s-t-e-r site "Show Your Cunt". The enormous number of genitalia on display shows pretty conclusively that there are a LOT of people out there who really like putting their private parts on display. Looking around elsewhere on the internet it would appear that posting nude photos often even jack-off videos has become a rite of passage for young men. For young gay men, performing in a full on hard core sex video is almost de rigueur.

Another is interviews of porn performers I have read in magazines or on the internet or seen in videos on the internet. Of course, some of them could be made up and fake, but generally they ring true. One particularly sticks in my mind about a man who went to his first gay porn shoot (as a performer). He went because porn was something he wanted to do, but he was expecting that everyone else there would be down on his luck and desperate. He found that the others ranged from high school drop-outs of PhDs and everything in between. But the two things they had in common were that they all had other jobs and they all were eager to take off their clothes and have sex with other men in front of a camera.

About the porn producer who remarked that many of his performers would even be willing to work for free, I do not remember who he was or where I read it, but again, this sure does ring true. People like to have sex in front of a camera. a LOT of people.

Finally, about trying to convince the lady (???) in question, don't bother. You never will. She sounds like the kind of person who would say "This is what I think, so don't try to confuse me with the facts." When people like that run into facts that dispute what they think, they simply disregard the facts rather than change their mind.
