On a related topic to "smooth or hairy" ... how many of you guys have a naturally hairy chest ? or one with pretty much no hair at all ? I'm in the second category - hardly even a stray hair. You guys with hairy chest ? lots of hair ? just some hair ? do you shave it or let it alone ? Lastly, at what age did you start growing your chest hair ?

I have absolutely no chest hair. I'm 36 and have never had any. If I ever grew some I would probably shave it.

My chest is pretty hairy. In the past I have shaved it, but that just takes too much time to maintain. Now I just trim it. I believe it started at 13, I know I had it at 14.

I started growing chest hair when I was 21. I started with just three... over the years it has continued to grow and now I am pretty hairsuit all over... and saldy my cheste hairs (and now some pubes!) have started to go grey

It's interesting to hear you say that you've never known anyone with naturally hairless balls, especially since you're Asian. You mean you, yourself, have some hair on your balls? I'm white, but I live in San Francisco where a third of the population is Asian/Pacific Islander so I've been with a lot of Asian/PI men. It has been my experience that most Asian and Pacific Islander men are naturally hairless on the scrotum and those that do have hair there generally do not have very much.

On a related topic, a substancial number of black and Latino men are also naturally hairless on the scrotum. It is also my understanding that most Native American (American Indian) men also have naturally hairless balls, but I've only been with two (both had hairless balls) and this is not a large sample. Occasionally I have encountered a white man with naturally hairless balls but this doesn't happen very often.

To answer your questions: My chest hair didn't start to grow in until I was past twenty. I never had much and what I did have looked so thin and stragley that I felt it looked better shaved off. I generally kept my chest shaved until I went with permanent laser hair removal on my chest, underarms and pubic area more than eight years ago.

My chest hair did not come in until I was 18 or 19 and it was quite thick. I hate it and I have shaved it all off now for several years. I do not like body hair on me, so I shave my entire body from nose to toes...leaving only the hair on my head.
