"Hero" - I don't actually hate the word itself, just the way it's used so glibly in the popular press which totally devalues the concept of heroism. A soldier saving someone whilst be shot at himself is heroic, a footballer stopping going in the net is not. Just my opinion, obviously.

Using the word People does not sound good to me, it is like you may as well be saying you Sheep .Folks gives a person a feeling of being someone's friend of family.

I would think using the word people would be best for a commentator to describe a group of humans on a side walk.
Where as Folks would be to describe a group of friends and family at a reunion. More personalized.

I never understood why there is a distinction. Can't someone be top and bottom or neither? What's the point in classifying gay men like this? People should be free to enjoy what they enjoy without labels. Sometimes one might feel this way, sometimes the another way.

I think lipsipsuckit is definitely onto the right idea. The whole point is preference.

After reading the forum post "The Evolution of Gay Sex" ... it sounds like gay sex has improved just like the way our rights have improved. "Bottom shaming" is still around and from the sounds of his forum post was very prevalent back then.

I'm glad that the gay people I know are not ashamed of their preferences. Announcing what you like done to your body or being up front about what you like sexually should be applauded... so long as it doesn't hurt anyone and is also consented to.

I find the distaste for these labels very interesting. Especially when it comes from another gay man. Honestly, it only makes me more curious as to their own sexual practices...though I am aware thats entirely their business. LOL
