I had to check this out -

Trump's ''leadership of this country has not gone unnoticed,'' Waterfield said in the statement. The award ''serves as recognition for President Trump's extraordinary leadership, significant impact and commitment to the betterment of our Country.''

Who are 'YPO' ? - 'We are the global leadership community of chief executives driven by the shared belief that the world needs better leaders. We come together in YPO to become better leaders and better people. Through YPO, we are inspired and supported to make a difference in the lives, businesses and the world we impact.'

So this award was given by the extremely wealthy to Trump for making them even wealthier with his huge tax cuts and deregulation measure?
By phart [Ignore] 24,Jun,21 11:38 other posts
YEP, those wealthy people like Elon and others, provide innovations in existing technology's and the new tech on the horizen. Without their wealth, and the chances they take you would not be enjoying fighting keyboard battles such as this 1. You want cleaner energy, you want electric cars, you want etc, well just where do you think it comes from?
Very little comes from the poor innovators in their basements anymore. Most of what is changing lives now comes from work financed by the rich folks that liberals love to hate. As much as I would like for the local yokel to have a shot at createing a new vaccine or a new energy source, more than likely it will come from Tesla or another company that someone invested millions into,a gamble if you will. Take away that chance, that gamble, and the new tech that could make a better world won't happen.
By Andthisisme [Ignore] 24,Jun,21 16:10 other posts
You are probably right. Alas despite what we are told the huge amounts of money that Trump, Musk and others like them make do not filter down to the poor shop floor worker in any meaningful way.
By phart [Ignore] 24,Jun,21 17:01 other posts
Tesla has workers, Amazon has workers. People with jobs. So it has filtered down. I read yesterday that teamsters is still trying to unionize Amazon. If i was the owner,if they voted union,I would put the thing up for sale to the chinese and let them haul it off overseas. No union is why the company is able to afford to operate.
By Andthisisme [Ignore] 25,Jun,21 04:39 other posts
I really don’t want to confuse matters by bringing in the union issue.
I totally agree that these people like Gates and Musk generate jobs but so many of those are minimum wage, if not worse. Yes some employees do receive excellent pay packages but the people at the bottom who we are always told will benefit from these regulation relaxations seem to remain on minimum wage.
Alas it has always been that way.
Elon Musk doesn't need to be that rich PERSONALLY. It would benefit innovation and society more, if he didn't take so much money for himself, but left it in the businesses.
He could for instance try to put some of his money to improve the situation of exploited people and CHILDREN in Congo, who mine the Cobalt for the Tesla batteries.
By phart [Ignore] 25,Jun,21 08:24 other posts
Before they mined cobalt, what were the kids doing? starving? Dieing? Perhaps mining the cobalt brings in food and fresh water. something they did not have before.? I guess the fat, aged out tv stars on advertisments wanting you to send 19.99 a month to help the kids is better somehow than them learning to provide for themselves? You know,Elon could send some birth control pills and condoms down there along with some food?
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 25,Jun,21 10:03 other posts
As far as I know Congo has been a pretty bad place to live for decades. They suffered under the dictatorship of Mobutu and there has been war about their incredible mineral wealth. Half the world's reserve in cobalt is in Congo, but they also have diamonds and copper. So it's a very wealthy country, but kids are forced to work, for a few dollars per day.
And then you are saying KIDS should learn to provide for themselves?
Shame on you!

Corruption is keeping them poor. The mining permits have been sold by Mobutu and are now exploited by huge mining corporations Glencore and HuaChin. They are knowingly responsible for young children digging into unstable soil 30 meters deep. They risk falling to their death or being buried alive, every long working day, for starvation wages. Actually the US government has shown some responsibility here and placed sanctions on the mining companies, while the European union is looking away and my Dutch government has done nothing for the past 5 years, to stop the white washing of the corrupt money through our financial district in Amsterdam.
So my government is guilty as hell and I am deeply ashamed of them.
However, the biggest buyers of Cobalt in the world are US tech giants like Tesla, Apple, Google and Dell. The US government gives them a pass from the sanctions, while they are complicit in the corruption, because they prefer low Cobalt prices.

So very nice when people send their donations to exploited children, but that's just an indulgence for their sin of being complicit in child labor, by preferring that iPhones and laptops are a few dollars cheaper. I know citizens are not personally responsible, but your disregard for the suffering in the world is part of the problem.
By phart [Ignore] 25,Jun,21 13:28 other posts
I agree kids should not be "working" in a mine shaft.
But at the same time, if there is no education system, if there is no future for them as far as finding paying jobs or what not, perhaps sadly it is best they learn SOMETHING they can do to keep from starving.
And it is reducing emissions. To a greenie-lefty-tree hugger, what's a bit of child labor if we can clean the air?

Oil industry does not have a well known record for child labor I don't think. And besides, kids make the nike shoes lefty-liberals love,so they are supporting the practice to.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 26,Jun,21 03:27 other posts
"I agree kids should not be "working" in a mine shaft. But.."
No buts, just no child labor.

I don't except child labor for bananas, coffee, tea, sugarcane, cacao, tobacco, bricks, rubber, shoes, t-shirts, diamonds, uranium, cold or cobalt, even if some of those products might be needed to prevent climate change.

Countries that have child labor are not responsible for climate change.
The whole of Africa emits 3.8% of the worlds carbon dioxide,
while they have 1.3 Billion people (17% of the world population).

A few dollars a day is not a paying job, that's slavery.
And you see a difference between starvation and dying in a mine?

Greenie-lefty-tree huggers think child labor is just as big of a problem as climate change. We are willing to pay a bit more for our luxuries, to stop extortion of the poorest of people. That's the whole point of being a LEFTY.
We also know we don't need to extort other people, while saving the trees,
so we can continue to BREATHE.

As long as they are alive, there is always the chance of things getting better.Starving to death, there is not much of a chance of survival.

Tecsan, you really believe that “ The dumbass does not even know the meaning of D-Day...”? I find that the millennials are lacking in knowledge of our republic, but, men/women of a certain age know, all about WWII. I believe that his team of advisors fucked up by omission.

As far as how much of an “idiot” he is, I can only measure that using the idiocy of the previous Clown and his followers. It will take heaps of idiocy to come up to those standards.

That is not destruction, that is protecting the rights of LEGAL citizens ,thats all..
By #610414 09,Jun,21 07:13
Phart you and the Repuckers are always telling us that voter ID is needed so only citizens vote. How come they never tell us 1) How many non-citizen voted in the last few elections. 2) How did they reach this number. And 3) why don’t they want to pay for the cost to get this ID?
By phart [Ignore] 09,Jun,21 17:27 other posts
There shouldn't be any additional cost for voter id.Just a couple more seconds of time when you walk up to get your ballet for the person to look at your drivers license picture or state issued id to make sure it is really you that wants to vote.
The state will provide you a id for a few dollars so you can get your medicine, get alcohol, get paint at the store and etc.
Why can't the democrats prove there was no voter fraud and why do they stand in the way of those trying to investigate it?
By #610414 10,Jun,21 08:13
The state will provide a valid ID FOR A FEW DOLLARS? Those few dollars hurts the poorest of the poor. They also have hard times getting it. Who are these people? The majority are black and Democrats. That’s why the Repuckers want to pass these laws.
Why do Democrats have to prove there was voter fraud in the national election? It’s the Repuckers who claim fraud and......in 7 months they have not been able to find any proof. Over 50 court cases, scores of recounts, government commissions and what happened? NOTHING. I call that not getting in the way. It’s poor looser attitude. They couldn’t win so they now attack the system.
By phart [Ignore] 10,Jun,21 10:31 other posts
5 bucks? hurts the poorest of the poor?
Do your research and forward the results to the dipshits that continue to push the lies you have been brainwashed with.

North carolina has a NO FEE ID! Read about it.

Florida has a 25 dollar fee.
Pick up a few bags of cans and get your id if your right to vote is important to you.

California has a no fee id card ,read about it "qoute"
No-fee ID card: You may be eligible for a no-fee ID card if you are a “homeless person” as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act.

West Virginia ,5 bucks!

Besides, if the basket ball players and other celebs want to really "HELP" matters, why not create a "ID card FUND" for the poorest of the poor to be able to get their legit ID cards for free?
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 11,Jun,21 08:36 other posts
I agree with phart that the price of an ID is not the biggest hurdle against voting.
In principle, I do say that there should be no difference in the ability to vote depending on wealth and the most poor should just be able to get their ID for free. (I know, free doesn't exist, it's tax money, but I don't give a damn)

The worst voter suppression of the poor is providing way too few polling stations in poor areas, so they have to stand in line for hours. Or limiting opening hours of the polling stations, so people have to take a day off. And the republicans get even more petty with laws like prohibiting drinking water, when standing in line.
Republicans know they have to cheat, because they can't win without cheating.
By tecsan [Ignore] 12,Jun,21 03:16 other posts
Are you telling me that you cannot have a bottle of water while in line...Somewhat I agree with you...If an ID card is required to vote then the card should be free, I will go one further and say if one has to means to get to office to get an ID, then transportation should be provided...
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 13,Jun,21 16:54 other posts
It might still be legal to bring your own water, when standing in line to vote, but it's illegal to hand out anything to voters. Like a bottle of water would have changed your mind from voting for Trump
But I see you care about democracy

Now I see a little...People for Trump were giving away water...Still ridiculous...What was to stop someone support the old fart from doing the same...We are just nit picking with this logic...
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 17,Jun,21 07:56 other posts
Voters don't need water, while standing in line, when the lines are shorter. It doesn't even cost much money to expand the number of polling places. Most poll workers are volunteers and the stations are either free or cheap. The US had 116,990 in 2016, but there were 21,000 less in 2020. Not a good idea to have lines during Covid.

However, it will be more difficult to find volunteers in the future, because many poll workers were threatened, because of claims of election fraud by Trump.
By phart [Ignore] 17,Jun,21 17:52 other posts
Around here it was already hard to get volunteers.
By tecsan [Ignore] 17,Jun,21 02:25 other posts
#1 no one knows or really cares how many (one is too many), #2 who knows or cares it happens #3 I think most states will pay for a state ID card if the person really is in need of it and has no money, granted they can prove their citizenship...You know like an official birth certificate, proof of residency etc...I know where the next attack will be, proof of residency...Mark my words...
They investigated the 'suspicious' election results many times by now and they found only a few illegal votes. These were votes by republican voters, who did what Trump told them to do.
Your elections are actually counted accurately. The only problem with your elections is voter suppression by the republicans. They are suppressing voting in specific counties, that are voting for the democrats, because they cannot win without cheating.
They are lying about voter fraud, so they can reject the elections results when they loose, even after all that voter suppression.

I'm actually not against requiring ID confirmation for voting. This is required in
The Netherlands and has never been determined to be a problem. (it could still be a problem in the US though)
It's however nonsense that voter ID would prevent illegal people voting, because the voting system itself already prevents illegal voting. People who are illegal cannot register to vote. Only LEGAL citizens can register, so only LEGAL citizens can vote (unless their registration gets purged by cheating republicans).
By phart [Ignore] 09,Jun,21 17:29 other posts
Ok when I registered to vote, you know where I started the process? IN the DMV OFFICE when they took my picture for my license!. PROOF OF ID before I got registered. So what does the system have in place now to prevent someone else going in and giving the lady at the table my name and using my ballet?
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 09,Jun,21 18:52 other posts
Don't you think they have access to the personal information of all citizens? It's not possible to register with a made up name and a fake ID. You are registered, by name, date of birth, place of birth, ethnicity, marital status, social security number and probably lots more. I think they even scanned my finger prints at one time.
They certainly can check that you exist.

When you only have to give your ballot when you vote, it's true that someone else can vote for you. But that ballot cannot be copied or falsified, because it's registered. So voter fraud, like republicans keep referring to, isn't possible. And if it is, I'm sure republicans would take any chance to use that opportunity, at least as much as democrats.

Democrats have tried to improve the security of your elections for years and republicans have always rejected that. They are only interested in laws that make it harder for black people or other democrat leaning people to vote.

As of March 24, 2021, more than 361 bills that would restrict voting access have been introduced in 47 states. If republicans actually cared about democracy, they would make voting as easy and secure as possible. However they don't care about secure elections, they only like to make them more difficult, in the areas where democratic voters live.
By tecsan [Ignore] 21,Jun,21 02:43 other posts
I know for a fact there is voter fraud...Both sides...But which side out frauds the other???Basically what out elections have come to...
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 21,Jun,21 15:14 other posts
HOW do you know for a fact there is voter fraud? Why do you think saying that would convince anyone?

'Voter fraud' is done by voters. It's easy to check, because ballots have security features. Only a few people were stupid enough to vote illegally, because it only affects the outcome of the election in the tiniest way at the people who've done it can expect harsh punishment. So you're actually talking about 'election fraud'.
By using the incorrect term, you're diminishing your credibility. If you want to enhance your credibility, you should specify the type of election fraud, how they have checked for it, how they discovered it and why the lawyers were unable to prove it, in the 86 lawsuits contesting the election processes.

Saying they are corrupt liberal judges is false, because many of them were appointed by Bush or even by Trump himself.

If republicans were actually honestly concerned about election fraud, they would support the 'For the People Act', but they are only working hard on bills that suppress voting.

Like you said some of it is tiny and not noticeable ... However I have seen it twice...Once when I could not vote because they said I already voted...I knew that was BS so I got help and proved I did not vote...The vote they say I cast was for a libturd...Everyone that knows me would know that to be false...But every vote counts, remember that...

That does sound fishy indeed. So what you need is a bullet proof system. Shouldn't this be one of the rare bipartisan agreements? At least for the citizens.

this statement I can't help but agree with.
BUT,you have to find people that are willing to be grilled, hated, loved, shot at and etc that will take the job. And be smart enough to do the job. The average person smart enough to take that job and do it well, are also to smart to take the job!

A person who really wants to improve the world?

even despite being grilled, hated, loved, shot at and etc.

But, that president will probably be assassinated immediately.
