I love trivia. When I was growing up my four brothers, my parents and I would call out "TRIVIA" then state some tidbit of information that we had just read or was related to the current topic of discussion.
If you have a piece of trivia for trivia lovers to enjoy, share it here!!
The Golden Gate bridge’s cables are the longest ever made. The two main suspension cables use enough wire to circle the globe three times.
It was made with approximately 1.2 million rivets that were replaced with high strength bolts in the 1980s for maintenance.

Ravioli_Max … but you probably already knew that! 😁
If you sail East or West near the North or South Pole, you are gong faster than if you were at the Equator. This is because the lines of Longitude converge
As Einstein said,"It's all relative". Your miles/hour or whatever measure you use stays the same. Your position marked by longitudinal lines would show you cross them in a shorter time but not speed. Fifty miles/hour in the artic circle is the same as fifty miles/hour at the equator.
Hmm yes, but in the days of sail, the fastest ships were judged on miles covered in 24 hours, and positions were reckoned in Longitude. So by going further south below the 40s or even 50s you went faster even though you didn´t
Ah, that is a horse of a different color. The problem is that below the 25 parallel you could start in Tierra del Fuego and end up in..............Tierra del Fuego. --------------------------------------- added after 27 minutes
And that's why a sextant was so important. They needed to see on what parallel they were coursing through. What's more the captains time peice had to be super accurate. Modern navigation could not be done without these two items.
Large-scale occupations of the US Capitol during the last 200 years:
1) 1814. By the British army. Inspired by George III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
2) 2021. By US citizens. Inspired by Donald Trump, President of the United States.
Boston has been inhabited by native Americans for over 7000 years with Europeans arriving in the 1600’s. Also, it is the only state capital in the lower 48 states with a saltwater coast.
Harvard was established in 1631, the oldest college in North America.
I'm sorry, I can't seem to find the part that's not true?
Matter of fact, the story seems to support/reinforce the fact that those BLACK men were used like test animals. Two modern day Presidents apologized for the atrocities. That being said, they want the Black community to "trust them" and take the vaccines first. I completely understand why a vast majority of the "Black community" are like... "No thanks!" I'm not black and I don't intend to take it, EVER!
Guess you Canucks are a lil slow on getting the real news.
Yesterday, our wonderful state of Texas filed a lawsuit against 4 of the contested states. I can only assume your smart enough to know the ONLY court that can settle lawsuits between states?
All I can say, is... DON'T FUCK WITH TEXAS!! --------------------------------------- added after 8 minutes
But alas... No worries, right! NO fraud was committed. Move along, there's nothing to see here.
So many things wrong with that Scorps. The attorney general of Texas, Paxton is currently under indictment for several felony security charges and he has no intention of getting of the election overturned. All he wants to do is get Donald Trump‘s attention and hopefully one of those many, many pardons the Trump will be handing out over the next 42 days.
Just took you 7 hours to come up with a rational way to diminish the effort to right a wrong? I was certain you would have been faster.
Yep, you surely must be right. That's his only reasoning for doing what he did. Now, what's the excuse why 4 other states joined the lawsuit? They must all be trying to cover for corruption and gain pardon favor too, huh?
As I'm sure everyone knows, there are multiple threads here to voice your political views. This is not one of them. This is intended to be a lighthearted fun thread and I'd appreciate it if you would respect that theme. Thanks. --------------------------------------- added after 97 hours
Kebmo, it's your thread and you have a right to expect some respect to the theme. You have to understand also that some entries lend themselves to more than one theme. Your thread is pretty mild in the politics department (I'm assuming that's your big beef) but, even you have wandered off your own thread here. If you ask me to prove it I can't but I do remember. --------------------------------------- added after 7 hours
Some people hide behind the blameless inuendo. Kebmo, I........... Oh, it's useless. The Bella! Stench has started to perfume your mind. Anything you say must be true. I bring offensive material to your thread. My Thread on the labor party of England is not trivia. Knowing 30000 Canadians faught in the Viet Nam war is and that's so FUNNY.
I just was reminded of events in 1964 in the UK. Harold Wilson was elected as Prime Minister representing the Labor party. The Labor party is the name of England's socialist party. Since 1964, England has embraced socialism much more than the USA. Fiftysix years and England is not worse for wear. The politics did change some but the country seems to be a prospering country
So you say living in London is awful? Hey, Brits on site, would you like to jump in and comment? Dgraff implies your country is shit. I would emigrate in a NY second if I could.
Do I have to remind you that this site whore sells her wares at a higher price and in bigger quantities than you can sell your Pirelli tires? I'm a better business woman than you any day and my overhead is some KY jelly and not axle grease. (Although, I hear axle grease gets you twice as much)
Haven't see Rhonda, but we've been taking care of this guy. He comes in every evening and asks if he can lick clean anyone who's crapping. He says his name is President-elect-scorps but I don't think that's his name. I've heard Rhonda call him Mr Homo. He sure loves to use Rhonda's maggoty hole.
