Solar, the panels have to adjust to follow the sun, if stationary, efficiency is reduced. Clouds ,reduced output. Wind, disposal of the turbine blades is a HUGE issue right now. comparable to if not greater problem than the lithium battery's .Just google wind turbine grave yard if you want to see a real problem. Also, there is talk of banning the windmills out in the ocean because they are killing whales

I am thinking the blades being out of balance may be causing vibrations perhaps or the electromagnetic fields from the wiring could be affecting the whales guiding themselves? Similar to bees and cell phones.
Solar panels, there are a couple places grinding them up now but it takes alot of effort to dispose of these systems...
If the ding bats would simply design storage battery facility's to use the lead acid or glass mat battery's, they are almost 100% recyclable. I actually have some storage battery's from the 1940's that are totally reusable!
Henry Ford was good friends with Thomas Edison, Electric cars were a thing even back then, Henrys wife drove a Baker electric, Jay leno has 2 in his car collection,
Ran on battery's, charged by wind in most cases in rural areas if people had them.
Hell, here is how you listened to the radio in the 30's.

All these ideas aint new.
A new GOP bill calls for a moratorium on wind farms after dozens of dead whales washed ashore since December. Scientists say no evidence suggests wind projects are to blame.

Even if it was the reason these sea going mammals off themselves, these windmills could be constructed in dry land.

Battery technology is advancing fast. I predict they will reach a point were wind and solar energy will be reliable.
This would work
Ol john kerry, riding around in his private jet telling us we need to walk and eat tofu.
It looks like his jetting around has some results.
The European union just committed to a 55% reduction in
greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
If that's his work, that's a good return on investment of CO2.
I just hope 100% CO2 neutral by 2050 is possible and early enough.

I can't add much really, the stupid from this group just oozes out on it's own so well.
So the next big forest fire,Some of the rural departments will not be able to respond due to small budgets and truck to old.
STUPID I tell ye, stupid.
A 20 year fire truck may not have 3000 hours on the engine to begin with ,much less any miles .They are some of the best maintained vehicles on the road.
After the end, no one cares about money anymore.
Still, lawmakers are always stupid, even if the mean well. Off course you only do away with the old firetrucks, AFTER replacing them. Start complaining when they don't do that, not when right-wing media is fearmongering that they won't.
Right-wing media always fails every single prediction. They get everything wrong,
all the time, but still you keep listening.
And they never offer any solutions. That would give you hope and calm your anger.
They want you angry and scared, so you will vote for a 'strong leader', telling you everything will be OK, if you vote for him. Then he will throw out everyone who is causing the 'problems'. Off course the problems will not go away, because denying the real problems will just make them worse. But maybe you will not be so afraid anymore, knowing 'big daddy' is there for you.
As a socialist, I understand that problems will only be solved, when people come together and demand change from their incompetent leaders, or we just throw them out and just solve the problems ourselves. Those 'strong leaders' never deliver any solutions.
I understand every single challenge associated with it.
But that's what got humanity to this point; overcoming challenges.
Humanity is declining in progress, because of complacency.
It's not the laziness you think, people are working their asses off.
It's laziness of thinking, people are averse to it.
Not only do people not want to think, they distrust others who do.
That results in everyone working hard, on our own destruction.
All jokes aside,if you are going to go a different route for energy production, you need raw materials to get started.
And this link shows our dependance on outside sources for raw materials.
I am confused as to why aluminum is such a problem as when I sell scrap aluminum it hardly brings enough to pay for the gas to take to the salvage yard.

Energy conservation in hot weather could raise mortality rates, a new study that has reviewed data from Japan showed this week.
In other words, conservation is killing people.
is that what this is telling us?
So apparently technology such as air conditioning, has something to do with longer life spans?
Sad,we work our way out of the caves and into nice homes with tech that should make our lives better, only to have to back track to satisfy a few extremist
Maybe you didn't notice, but there is a global shortage of both, because a certain
Mr. Putin. That's why the whole world is accelerating the transformation to renewables.
If they started that years/decades ago, we wouldn't be in this kind of a hurry now.
Now it's creating shortages of raw materials, high prices and a labor shortage.
That's what happens, if shortsighted people run the world.
You only present problems, but you have no solutions, besides this one:
Every time economics has any involvement in your arguments, you show
no grasp of it in the slightest.
When resources are scarce, the price goes up. That happens with energy now.
That's why we need alternatives.
And preferably not alternatives that will kill everyone.
Meanwhile, coal burning plants could still be working instead of in moth balls!
Proven Tech, canceled out by chinese made JUNK
Windmills work and work well, but not at this scale. cost to much and to many issues.
There are several plusses and minuses about wind power. The obvious one is that wind can't be made to blow at peak hours.
Just a few facts:
The typical wind turbine is 2-3 MW in power, so most turbines cost in the $2-4 million dollar range. Operation and maintenance runs an additional $42,000-$48,000 per year according to research on wind turbine operational cost.
What is the environmental payback period? The environmental payback period is the amount of time it takes for a wind turbine to generate the amount of energy used during manufacturing and installation. For most wind turbines, the time it takes to offset this energy use is between 6 months to a year.Aug 16, 2021
Investing in wind energy or wind projects is an excellent way to boost the US economy and keep energy costs down without negatively impacting the environment.Mar 15, 2022
Try doing that with a coal or natural gas power plant. And don't even bring in a nuclear plant into it.

As far as we know, the sun has never caused a big extinction event.
So what is your argument?
this will prompt issues with communications and such.
qoute
Earth’s magnetosphere is located in its magnetic field, which extends thousands of miles into space and its magnetism affects everything from global communication to animal migration and weather patterns.
But using this as an argument against climate change is bullshit.
Every ton of CO2 that humanity doesn't emit, will lessen climate change.
Every ton of CO2 emitted will only make the effects of climate change worse.
There are lots of solutions and many are better and cheaper than the current fossil fuel based technology. But even if it is more expensive, not doing it will be more expensive and cost many lives and lots of suffering.
The US is spending $ 800 million per year to protect the people militarily.
How much is the US spending to protect the people from climate change?
How much is the US spending to protect the people from solar activity spikes?
How much is the US spending to protect the people from a meteor?
--------------------------------------- added after 5 hours
Off course I meant 'The US is spending $ 800 Billion per year to protect the people militarily.', with a B.
Well there is a tiny tidbit of fact in regards to that. Read about a faraday box.
The tinfoil would need to be grounded to be most effective.
I am sure you have also heard of the 2 steps forward 3 steps back saying. For every ton of co 2 we don't disperse, 3 tons come out of the volcano.
So how much headway are we really making in the long term?
Our extinction will happen. rather we extend it a 100 years or not with regulations.
Why can't we enjoy our lives without all this bickering and taxation?
Well perhaps this will help illustrate the electric car is not the answer when all owners are expected to come to work and they can't charge their cars
Good thing is, this should help with their droughts to.
Worth a watch
Ok, so these stones were put into place to warn the future generations of drought and famine.
What caused the drought at that time that prompted the stones placement?
Couldn't be climate change, all that was going on man made at that time was Fire as in to cook and heat with. and yes the cows were farting and the men were to.
But, some are saying now, climate change has brought them out in the open again. I don't think they had dive suits back then and climate change is a new thing.
of miles. Ice ages and hot periods interchanged each other for millions/billions of years.
Then the climate took millennia to change. Now it takes decades.
Do you understand the difference between millennia and decades?
That's a factor of 100, for if you don't.
just a example
Těchlovice near Děčín

Stone with multiple years: 1892, 1903, 1904, 1911, 1928, 1963, 2015 etc.
1892? eh, what were humans doing then? Maby a steam train, maby some stoves and fireplaces?

1778? eh what level of fossil fuel use were we at then?
Regardless of what you believe, I know that the seas are rising, the polar ice caps are melting, and cyclonic storms are getting stronger and more frequent. This is not from scientists or government agencies. I'm living it and seeing the results on the six o'clock news in color and HD.
During the last few years there's been news stories about glaciers that have been here since the last ice age, melting. We see stories of polar bears drowning because the ice cap is breaking up and the bears get tired of swimming. The breakup is due to ice melt. We just went through two hurricanes back to back here in Florida. Both were strong storms. The US is getting hit more often. California burns every dry season. The Colorado now is "El Rosado" (look it up). Lake Mead looks like a puddle. These are all things that I can see with my own eyes. These are not scientific predictions. These are real.
I recommend Jean M Auel Earth's Children Series Six Book Set [Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of the Horses, Mammoth Hunters, Plains of Passage, Shelters of Stone, and Land of Painted Caves]
They are fictional, but, the author has made extensive research on the last ice age and it's effects on Eastern Europe. She's recognized as an authority on the subject.
Getting back to your post. This globe we live in is in a constant state of change. The Sahara used to be a vibrant grassland with trees and other fauna and flora thriving in it. That is undeniable. Did you know there was a Little Ice Age that affected Northern Europe and North America between the 14th and 19th century? The winters were bitterly cold, more so than now. So what? What do you and Tecsan want to convey?
Have you not looked under a car hood since you bought your mustang? there is alot of shit under the hood of the cars now that has NOTHING to do with making it move but makes it less "polluting".
Gas mileage has not risen that much in decades.
Hell a 55 chevy would get 25 to the gallon driven with good sense ,and it had little to NO smog stuff at all.
--------------------------------------- added after 18 minutes
That's called making it efficient. A smaller engine uses less gas. And, BTW, a 55 Chevy got 12 miles/gallon and that was on their straighsix engine. I personally know because my older brother had a 55 Chevy. Gas was very cheap. There were two gas stations on opposite corners of NW 27 ave and 14th street, in Miami, in 1966, that were constantly at war. They used to sell for $0.09/gal. In Florida you could get your operator's licence at 16. My dad would give me $5 on Saturday morning and I could drive to the beach, buy a Whopper, fries, and a coke for $0.90 and still go to the movies with my friends that evening.
