How many terrorist attacks under Trump?
strong man leadership, more than likely will lead to a safer nation.
By #610414 02,Nov,22 21:27
Still, the last two wars were by Republican presidents, but, what's that suppose to mean? Biden didn't either. No terrorist attacks under Biden. You want strong man? Let's give Putin American citizenship.

he doesn't need to take over, this country's current leadership has driven it into the sewer ,morally, spiritually, economically, and etc.
All the damage a war would do without firing a shot.

That is your opinion. It's an opinion not shared by the majority

the most recent polls are not in favor of your statement.
I agree not much will get done after the 8th.but at least we will know the "majority's" opinion a bit better. If the ballots aren't lost or burned or some other calamity doesn't take place.
By #610414 03,Nov,22 18:25
Yet, ask anyone if they think the USA is a sewer and see what they say.
Look, most homes have a stove, at least one refrigerator, several TVs, at least a car, screen windows, hot and cold water, at least one bathroom with inside plumbing. There are supermarkets, drugstores, loads of restaurants, and roads. There are properly stocked hospitals everywhere, public transportation, and goods. We are protected by a great military and, for the most part, good police. Money is tight, but, most families get by. Do you know any other country like this one?

Trump has condemned the attack on Pelosi's husband.
That's quite decent of him!

Even Trump understands this type of violence accomplishes nothing positive.
By leopoldij [Ignore] 31,Oct,22 09:20 other posts
It's a good thing. Leaders, from all political parties and affiliations, should condemn this violent act. It's not only that it accomplishes nothing, it's also a crime.

OF COURSE Trump never bothered to condemn the attack. Why would he?

I can't stomach listening to Trump,
he's despicable.
And, knowing that he's a thug, I really can't stomach his voice.
I read that he didn't issue a condemnation, then phart sent a link that he did, I clicked on it (and did not read), so I said "apologies".
Of course, he is not sincere. We know that. He only cares about his pocket.
What I find laughable is that people can't see his insencirity.
Take, for example, how he pretended to be "religious" in order
to get the votes of the american evangelicals, baptists,
fundamentalists, and all those people. Millions of votes.
Millions of dollars. So he got hold of a bible and claimed
he's a christian. Nothing could be further from the truth,
of course. But people can't see how insincere he is.

P.S. Having said that about Trump, I should also point out that nobody in the US stands a chance to become a president if he/she does not appear to be religious. Americans can't stand a politician who (possibly insincerely) states "in god we trust". The difference with Trump is that he doesn't give a shit about any god or about christianity (he openly said he'd date his daughter...Very christian of him to say so...)
By #610414 03,Nov,22 18:17
That's the reason why there's never been a Jewish president or vice-president, and few Catholics.

Why is that boogieman, Communism or Socialism, is always thrown out there? We are in the middle of one of the biggest elections. That alone should be enough to know we are nowhere near being close to an authoritarian government ruling our country.
Trying to sensor fake and negative news or dangerous idea mongers is an aluring thought, but, it's not the correct way to refute such. I don't condone it. I didn't condone it in the Trump administration and not now, in the Biden administration.
By phart [Ignore] 02,Nov,22 15:50 other posts
That boogieman is the God of the Liberal Democrat and he is everywhere in their agenda.
He even has YOU under his spell.
You can't think for yourself and determine for yourself who your enemys are,you let a party and the media do it for you.
As you pay thru the nose for the things to keep you alive and functioning.
By #610414 02,Nov,22 18:24
No one controls my thinking, not you Repuckers, not the Democrats, not one person or many. As Decartes said, "I think, therefore I am". Phart you mistook my liberal leanings and approvals of a few Democrats and President Obama And President Biden as being a blind follower without reason. That is not me and never will be. I will never follow a "Trump" like you conservatives have been doing for the last eight years and with no future let up.
The media is just a reporting service. You are not supposed to believe everything that they say. You are required to use your mind, and, using your knowledge, your education, your personal experiences, and more than one opinion, to base your views. That's what I do, and, at this point in time, I'm a Democrat. They represent what I want in life and for my country. Can you say the same? You, Repuckers, don't have a plan to "fix" the economy. All you can do is yell at the top of your voice that THE DEMOCRATS are to blame, but, have you heard one Republican candidate say, "This is the way"?
There's a big difference acknowledging our enemies and making fun of people who hide under the table every time they are mentioned.

Common sense suggests SEN. RICK SCOTT should avoid talking about Medicare as much as possible. After all,
👉👉the Florida Republican helped oversee a company that committed Medicare fraud on a massive and historic scale.👈👈

What’s more, Scott has unveiled a far-right blueprint of his policy priorities, which includes a provision that would put all government programs, including Medicare, up for renewal every five years, necessarily putting their futures on unstable and uncertain ground.

Dgraff you posted in @ Bella!@'s thread:

In November there’s going to be a red wave sweeping through Pennsylvania and it will wash all the little blue turds out to sea the first agenda will be voter reform mail in ballots will be ruled unconstitutional unless you are confined to a wheelchair and there will have to be proof of who you are our new governor will see to that we know how the democrats cheated in 2020 through mail in ballot and we will make sure it can’t happen again

CAT
Your opinion of the coming election's outcome could come true. You live in Pa, and know your local politics. You were doing good until the last sentence. That's when the boogie man of Republican politics showed it's ugly head. See this:

With two weeks until Pennsylvania’s primary election, Republican candidates running for U.S. Senate and governor continue to sow doubts about the legitimacy of 2020’s presidential election, showing the extent to which the GOP campaign trail remains in thrall to former President Donald Trump’s extreme and baseless election claims.

I think there were 26 irregularities in your state in the 2020 election. Twenty-six, out of 3,458,229 votes. Wow, yes, the next governor and new state legislature should immidiatly tackle wholesale voter fraud. There's always a few that f...k it up for the rest of us. I just can't imagine how many mailmen have to be bribed or how many phony mail-in ballots need to be filled so Dr Oz can win.
Just before the 2020 elections, the Republican National Committee mailed Pennsylvania voters encouraging mail-in voting, describing it as a "convenient and secure” option. It was voted out by the Pa, legislature. Okay, why make it easy to vote? Everyone knows the harder it is to vote, the better for the Repuckers. Me? I would make voting digital. Make it on-line. Just send everyone a code to identify the voter.
Mountain Man, you may be right that there may be a landslide in favor of the Repuckers in Pa. I'm hopping it might be more like Hurricane Ian emptying Tampa bay of Repucker's water.
By dgraff [Ignore] 28,Oct,22 09:00 other posts
It’s actually starting all ready three of our countries blue counties have sent mail in ballots out early thus receiving ballots back early before the voting started now the debate is should the early mailed ballots be counted this very same situation happen in 2020 and they were counted along with some late ones received after the dead line so you see my concern as Pennsylvania was one of the states involved in the controversy
By #610414 28,Oct,22 09:03
Mail-in ballots are not meant to keep the same timeline as regular voting.
By dgraff [Ignore] 28,Oct,22 09:17 other posts
I realize that and that is a problem there should be no early or voting after the deadline
--------------------------------------- added after 98 seconds

If they want to continue to use mail in ballots there must be guidelines
By #610414 28,Oct,22 09:31
Early voting is done in person a few days b4 election day. What is wrong with that? Mail-in votes counted after election day happen when a vote is mailed b4 the deadline and arrives to the elections office after the election. There's usually a time limit like 3 to 5 days. That's why elections are certified several days AFTER election day. Of course, if there are 10K mailed-in votes and the first placed candidate is ahead by 20K votes, it doesn't matter, but, to keep the books straight, they have to be counted.
By #672017 28,Oct,22 11:15
The obvious "problem" with early voting is that it allows more people to vote, which is always bad for Republicans.

If they had their way, voting would be restricted to one day and the working class would be largely unable to participate, meaning the retired and wealthy would dominate the polls.
By #610414 28,Oct,22 14:29
True. Polls closing at 5pm. I always said that if Election Day was a holiday and the vote compulsory, Republicans would loose most, if not all, elections.

another thing, google the price of a Mercedes delivery van. Then tell me HOW a postal service that claims to be fucking broke can buy a FLEET of them??
Yep,a couple weeks ago a Mercedes van pulls up in the yard, not a big 1,this was the size of a dodge caravan. They need to be using cheaper equipment.
By #610414 28,Oct,22 22:33
The Metris will not replace the next gen LLV

According to the USPS there are approximately 163,000 LLVs (as opposed to the oft quoted 140,000) still in use today, part of a larger fleet of 200,000 delivery vehicles.

This allotment of Metris vans only represents a small, but sizeable 10 percent of the entire postal route fleet meant to replace the LLV.

The USPS still has plans to replace the large majority of LLVs with a next-gen vehicle, a contract worth over $6.3 Billion to whoever wins it. Finalists from AM General, VT Hackney, Mahindra, Karsan, and Oshkosh/Ford are in the running with a winner yet to be announced.

It's a stop gap measure

Let’s see reason 1: I’m a military person stationed ANYWHERE but my voting district.
Let’s see reason 2: I plan to be on vacation.
Let’s see reason 3: I can’t drive (for whatever reason) and there are NO public transport services near me.
Let’s see reason 4: I have surgery scheduled

There’s more but you get the picture. Maybe you should move. I get all my bills on time and I insist on paper billing. Mail-in ballots are, by force of nature, individual pieces of mail. They are not BULK MAIL. I can see a few being destroyed (mailman gets lazy) but, I can’t see huge amounts being hijacked. No matter how bad USPS is in your area, I doubt many pieces of mail would take more than 10 days to go cross-city. No, Phart , you are parroting the Repuckers line in order to question a loss. 😈

NO, I had to sit at the kicthen table a couple weeks ago for 2 hours trying to get my dad's dental insurance reinstated because the bill came in the mail, 2 days past due! 3 weeks!
It was taken care of but in the meantime I had to deal with the shit obama started where my dad has to fill out and mail in paper work each year for me to be able to handle DENTAL insurance for crying out loud.
But hell no,When I had a 350 dollar money order get lost in the mail and I had to make double paymets the next month to keep from being charged a late fee,I don't trust the mail with Anything important, without insuring it and having tracking and signature at delivery.
By #610414 28,Oct,22 22:35
Hell, Phart, Charlie has 6 specialists plus a primary doctor. I have 3. Spending 2 or 3 hrs a few times a month to set up appointments and getting insurance approval is typical.
By phart [Ignore] 30,Oct,22 19:51 other posts
This is not getting things approved ,this is time wasted every damn year to make sure I have the "right" to discuss the policy PAYMENTS. I am already the legal power of attorney and etc, but each year the bill he has to pay, only to be reimburshed by the company for that amount, always comes late, the payment gets there late, and it is back and forth with a bunch of button pushing and getting transfered, only to find out the paper signed last time is 2 weeks expired.
I mean damn, until he pass's away, I am in charge of his affairs, why do they keep making it difficult is beyond me.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has warned people not to use its blue boxes on specific dates. It particularly warned about the chances of theft from these on Sundays and holidays. It raises the question of why USPS bothers to keep these boxes, which must be expensive to service at all.

CAT
Yeah, Phart. I can see your point. Every f....ing voter is going to stuff his ballot in ONE box on the same Saturday evening. We are lost. The election is fu....ked.
By phart [Ignore] 31,Oct,22 16:03 other posts
The point was that even the post office is telling people, hey, these boxes are not secure.
But yet people like You insist that mail in voting is safe. How can it be when the very people hired to deliver those ballets is saying, the boxes aren't safe??????
The liberals just refuse to acknowledge the is failure in the postal system as far as security is concerned for sure.
By #610414 31,Oct,22 17:52
Phart, regardless of what the USPS says, the numbers would not support your premise. EVERY BOX would have to be robbed evrry day for several weeks. That is not feasible. There's a bigger chance a precinct building catching on fire and destroying the votes there.
