There was no real science behind the rules.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and former chief medical adviser to President Donald Trump, said the 6-foot social distancing rule, which the CDC originally recommended, had not been backed by a clinical trial. This is despite constant claims that COVID-19 protocols were based on science.
Folks like cat, blame wuhan virus deaths on Trump, BUT how could it be avoided if he was not told the truth by folks he and the American people was supposed to be able to trust?

After a discussion with phart about "a man's duty to take care of his woman",
I thought it would be nice to ask for the perspective of a woman living in a similar culture.
At least, it's my understanding you live in a similar culture, I might be wrong.
phart said:
"no but the man of the house is supposed to take care of her and supply her with everything she needs as she takes care of the kids. That is the wifes job."
I replied:
"Supposed by whom? Not by me! Women are human beings, just like men.
They have the same human rights as men and the same duties as men.
They should not be dependent on men to take care of them."
Then tecsan reacted to it with:
"Guess that is your dumbass opinion, but I will protect my woman."
My reply was:
"My girlfriend should be able to leave me, if she doesn't love me no more.
It's part of why I know she still does.
Is it protecting your woman, to make her dependent on you?
You're not protecting her FREEDOM that way."
I would be interested to know where you land in this discussion.
Do you feel any desire to comment on it?
a girl friend is a bit different. they can come and go as they please, and if they go, and don't come back or keep leaving and coming back, then you probably don't need them.
BUT WHEN you get MARRIED, in other words make a life time commitment to her, then that is when your duty's as a husband take effect.
But that's not to say if you have a girlfriend and a prowler comes along or a bear trying to harm her, as a MALE you have a moral obligation to protect the woman.
I can't believe as educated as you claim to be you have no understanding of the concept of commitment and marriage.

Plenty there to learn from and not all based on religion. But just simple common sense. respect her, dont harm her etc.
The wife has obligations to.
but the husband is the head of household and accepts input from the wife but makes the final decisions.
Let Jerry Clower explain some of it.

cohabitation contract, a mortgage and testaments together.
I see no difference between that and marriage.
If we would have married, that wouldn't have been in a church,
where all your archaic ideas are confirmed.
You made very clear what you meant with "a man's duty to take care of his woman".
Of course I would defend her, I do respect her, don't harm her etc.
You damn well know what I'm talking about.
document a registered partnership or document a cohabitation contract.
The personal situation between my girlfriend and her family created an unpleasant situation to get married in, at that time we bought our house together.
She would have missed both her parents and her siblings at the wedding.
That's why we decided to just get a cohabitation contract.
It provides the same rights as a marriage, without the ritual,
where you want friends and family supporting you.
I have always had my family as support, but my girlfriends connection
with her family has been chaotic her whole life.
A wedding would just have created grief.
That of course is a difference between a wedding a document,
in contrast to what I said before.
Some people call their wedding the best day of their lives.
That's not always possible.
In total, 34% of marriages end in divorce. 0.26% of all marriages end within one year. 80% of all divorces are initiated by the woman.
Both our parents never divorced, so at least we had a good example. Looking around me, there are three family members (in total from both sides) who divorced, and there is one stable marriage. We have two best friends. One has a stable relationship with two children, but they are not married. The other is married, but they don't have children.
I think our secret is leaving each other some breathing space. We do things together, but also apart. I have my hobbies and she has hers. Sometimes she's staying with her mother for a few days, or they go on a small vacation together. She visits an older lady about once a week and I sometimes visit my friends alone. And I have my periodic politics meetings. She doesn't like the meetings, but she likes to help with community events or some campaigning actions.
The Wife & I same, its important to maintain ur own identity within a relationship
Okay, that out of the way, you mention that you engage in "periodic politics meetings" but also say that she doesn't like it. Are you able to explain why? Thank you.
When you are together for 25 years, you end up like partially one person.
We compliment each other and learn from each other.
She brings the emotion and I bring the rationale.
I used to be a complete introvert, but I'm way less now.
My job helped on that front, because I trained people for a few years.
But, without my girlfriend, I would not have learned to speak to people.
However, the strange thing is that she learned communication skills from me too, because an introvert has problems with talking to strangers or groups, but in person we can really talk with people. Extroverts can talk to any stranger and be the light of the party, but they tend to be superficial.
As I said, I'm an introvert. I like subjects that are painfully boring to many people, like my girlfriend who is an extrovert. The political meetings are about discussing the differences that even people within the same party have. Sometimes it gets deep into policy or financial decisions. When the council members explain a difficult issue, I get excited and my girlfriend falls asleep.
I hear no one say that. Men either say wife (vrouw) or girlfriend (vriendin)
in The Netherlands. Actually, if a guy says "partner" (partner in Dutch too),
most of the time he's gay and is referring to his boyfriend (vriend).
Most marriages last much shorter than our relationship.
I just told you how many people around me divorced.
Were they showing a commitment, with that ring?
Whether we are married or not, the challenge to stay together is exactly the same.
Marriage is a little-bit more difficult to get out of, than a cohabitation contract.
Marriage would only increase her incentive to put up with me. Right?
True, the standard marriage is sharing everything,
which is a risk, if it doesn't work out.
You could have a prenuptial agreement, but isn't that cheap?
The standard cohabitation contract is exactly like that.
However, because I have a larger income, and would therefore be able
to take on more debt, if we would ever separated, we don't split everything 50/50, but 60/40. That means 60% of everything we own would be mine, but also 60% of all the debt, which for the foreseeable future is higher than everything we own, apart from the house. But, you gotta live somewhere, even if you separate.
So I have a question for you my Dutch friend, U & ya misso been together for 25 years, so if there was a split, would not your misso & yourself not be entitled to 50% of all assets spit equally between each other (providing offspring are not involved) according to the laws in Holland 🤷♀️
The standard cohabitation contract is exactly like a marriage,
for property, debt and taxes.
Instead of the standard 50/50 split, we have a 60/40 split.
This was decided after several sessions with a notary.
All the paperwork was actually quite expensive.
Not as expensive as a nice wedding, but more than a cheap one.
When we would split, I would still have to pay some alimony too,
but it might me a bit different from marriage. There is no offspring,
but if there were, it would need to recognize them, while in a marriage
they're your children too, by default. I would of course have done that.
There is no difference for the children, on separation, unless the father
wouldn't have recognized them. No one does that, unless there are already problems in the relationship, like the man doubting those children are his.
So I have another question, why not propose, sexist as it may seem to some, but in a traditional hetro relationship, why not smack a ring on your misso finger after 25 years 🤷♀️
--------------------------------------- added after 3 minutes
Seems like you already have more or less 50/50 split according to you laws regarding property owner ship 🤷♀️
It wouldn't be much different to be married, and I know my girlfriend would like a wedding, but I don't. It's not even the money, although that is a factor, it's the ritual, being the center of attention and speaking out hollow promises.
I have seen people speak those promises and show they are not worth a dime. No one is sure that they will stay together forever, but they still say those words.
I don't make promises, ever. My commitment might be stronger then the next ten guys, but I still won't promise. I show my commitment in action.
For me I am bringing this to a close.
I just wanted to express my opinion that my other friends brought up with you regarding this matter, I agree with on some of their points.
However, your miso & yourself within your understood "rules of engagement", for one of better terms, is really no business to anyone else's than yours & your miso's, however what I would say out side of your rules of "engagement" with each other, slapping a ring on her finger would bring her untold enjoyment, but what is decided at the end of the day is about your union agreed buy U & your miso.
Luv always

I didn't say she had it easy the last 25 years.
I don't do things just because it's a thing people do.
It's part of my character to overthink things, I guess.
I am not hesitant of risk averse, but whatever I do, I do with conviction.
I have not been able to find this conviction on marriage.
It hasn't been easy coasting for me either, the last 25 years.
Marriage doesn't make it better. I prefer being together over being divorced.

Ephesians 5: 22-33 (GNT)
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church- 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32This is a profound mystery-but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
I didn't call those ideas archaic for nothing.
But, I don't think phart's ideas are based on religion much.
It's more culturally inspired. I would put him at a level of Christian,
which provides other people the freedom to be completely woke liberals too.
Of course, the bible is not an argument for me. I consider a universe creating entity
type god a possibility, but not one who cares about strict and different roles for men
and women, cares what you do while naked, or provides any afterlife, or different ones managed by that entity as either reward or punishment.
To me, males and females (and variations) are only different in biology,
which has no relationship with one dominating the other. Freedom should be equal.
Am I correct that you are married? Is your husband taking care of you,
in the biblical sense? Or would you say that you demanded a bit more
self-determination, than the bible prescribes?
A womans job once children come into the picture is to raise the kid. You know mothers can Breast feed their babies. Not a job for the dad, that would have to get cow or goat milk and warm it and put it in a bottle. That should clue the ignorant in on why things are setup for the male to do the work outside the home to support the rest of the family.Women are typically smaller and physically weaker in stature. That's why you didn't see women out driving railroad spikes with sledge hammers and working in the coal mines with picks and shovels.
Alot of work is mechanized now and women and men both can do the work since machines do the lifting and such.
Alot the change in ideas is the 60's hippes had kids without giving them morals and passing down tradition and now things are slipping.
compare the suicide rates of teen agers from 1950 and 2020 , teens want to die so bad, part of it is they didn't have 2 parents, were never taught roles and responsibility's, therefore growing up not knowing what to do with themselves or what to do for others. a good life starts with a good foundation, and when you leave kids without both parents to be good role models, they have nothing to build on.
A mother can't raise a child without issues working 2 jobs and leaving it with the old bat down the road for 12 hours a day, that leaves it in front of the tv all day.
How can you expect a kid to become anything without both parents?
That's why the man, supports the family and the woman raises the family
It could be a choice, to leave each other free like that, but I was not talking about that, and it's not the type of relationship we have. We chose monogamy, but we did have sexual adventures together.
No, I'm talking about one not dominating the other, and neither one giving up a career, to retain self-determination, in the case the relationship doesn't work out.
A mother is surely more important for a baby, but that's what maternity is intended for. Most Dutch people share the care for children after that. My brother's girlfriend went back to work after maternity, and my brother takes care of my young nephew too. They have one day at daycare and one day at her parents per week. Our friends have two kids and the still both have their jobs. She doesn't work full-time, but she has a good job that makes good money. He works in shifts and makes even better money. That's how the can afford nice things and vacations.
In my country, women have an even higher education on average than men. It has been like that 24 years in a row. It would be a shame to give up a good education, for being a housewife. To combine two jobs with children, my country is record holder part-time working. Still, together couples make more hours per week than a full-time working dad. Since our education level is ranked 8th and yours is 12th, and we have much lower crime levels, I think Dutch parents are doing OK.
Well, it doesn't seem that you are that far off track.
And the ring wasn't going to happen anyway. I would probably have one,
but never wear it. I hate wearing any jewellery, I don't even wear a watch.
Honestly, I've always found Paul to be a bit too uppity for my taste. I mean, the guy was a persecutor of Christians who suddenly decided to declare himself the number one spokesman for the Almighty. Seems kind of fishy to me. Like a TV evangelist before the invention of TVs...
FYI; you're not running against Biden anymore.
Only five more months and he retires and can shit himself as much as he wants.
You're the one supporting a mentally declining diaper wearer for the next four years.
Democrats didn't start about presidents being unfit for office, because of mental decline and shitty britches, that was your side. Is that still an argument now?
All the democrats have is obama's next puppet and a lying ass old white guy that I guess the dem's thought they might swing some votes with from the undecided.
I would not do that, if my guy had a history as long as Trump's of that.
I would also not accuse the other side of being a puppet,
when my guy promises tax-cuts for donations, showing he's for sale!
Or if he denies that Project 2025 is his idea. Who's the big boss?
I would also not accuse the other side of lying, when my guy
is the Olympic record holder of lying.
I would not be so confident, if I saw my guy fuck up so much.
I have the 'common sense' to not be the first one to accuse the other side
of what my side is clearly doing.
But, if that guy was the best my party had to offer, I would have left long ago and found a better party, because my country actually has a democracy, with many choices of parties to represent everyone.
We have not had the option of voting for the best man for the job in decades.
We have to vote for the lesser of the 2 evils.
And Trump gets that big time.
kamel "worked" her way up the ladder in cali.
that doesn't mean she learned anything along the way either.
To get real, policy wise, you agree with Trump and not Kamala.
That should be it, no reason to discuss anything further.
The problem is that Trump is just unacceptable in too many ways.
If it was just a matter of democracy, representing either
your ideas or the ideas of liberals, I wouldn't fight you.
I would not give a shit about who you elected; have it your way.
But, that's not reality. Trump doesn't care about Democracy.
He would impose his will and the will of a minority of extremists
on everyone and then make it impossible to ever go back to what
the majority wants. You agreeing with that is unacceptable.
This is democracy: people with similar ideas create parties and together make a program of ideas on how to organize the country. They pick representatives who share those ideas and have the skills represent them well and experience in organizing to eventually implement as many as possible of those ideas. The they go out and explain those ideas to everyone and show they have the skills and character to implement them. Then the people vote for the representatives they like. That results in a winner or a distribution of seats for the various parties. The majority, or several parties forming a majority, pick(s) up the responsibility to organize the country in the way the promised. The minority is still involved to check and debate the majority, to represent their ideas. They don't try to cheat and take ownership of a responsibility they did not earn, in the form of trust of the voters. The first responsibility of EVERY REPRESENTATIVE AND EVERY VOTER is to support that system, everything else comes second.
You're sad about only having 2 parties, but you're supporting reducing that to 1. It's not an overreach to say that, Trump makes that absolutely clear.
He is livid that he lost the last time and he will make sure he and his loyalists will NEVER LOSE AGAIN. And everything you are saying here is just a distraction,
so you can deny that for yourself. You are denying your first responsibility as a voter, to elect representatives who support democracy, for your own selfish support of your ideas.
2 wars going on in the middle east and our leaders are weak as water.
Now you are worried about war, while you support Israel throwing you into a war with Iran? Don't forget that Trump almost started a war with them already. It's the first thing he will do, if he gets elected.
Iran's military forces are made up of approximately 610,000 active-duty personnel plus 350,000 reserve. On paper similar to Iraq. Do you want to spend another 3 Trillion dollars on a war that only makes things worse?
What did Israel ever do for you, to deserve such devotion?
And if left alone 30-40 years ago I doubt they would have the trouble they are having now.
Pretend? Yea right bud. Come take a trip to the grocery store with me,everything is 50% higher, ramen noodles were .24 cent a pack when Trump left office, .46 cent now.
Gas was less than 2 dollars a gallon, 3 and over now.
milk was about 2.25 a gallon, 3.50 now. and I could keep going on.
A camper trailer i got a price on in 2021 was 48,000 dollars, it is now 99,000 and UP depending on options.
THe companys reason, Cost of materials and labor has increased.
How do you explain that?
FYI, Biden increased the minimum wage of government workers to $15/hour, not any wages of any private enterprise employees.
--------------------------------------- added after 18 minutes
They gave us a raise with our own money that we were making, you got to be fucking kidding me,,, and there’s nothing we can do or say about it.
The bonus,was probably taxed differently,
Some companies give insurance and retirement plans. Young people walk past a good retirement package for a dollar more on the hour. not realizing they are royally screwing up.
My employer provided and STILL provides my insurance, a full retirement i will start drawing in a few months. MY hourly wage didn't look that good,it was "enough", but the insurance and vacation leave and insurance were good benefits.
Biden issued an Executive Order to increase the Minimum Wage for Federal Workers and Contractors to earn $15 an hour. That's nearly 70,000 federal workers and 300,000 employees of federal contractors.
There are about 160 million working Americans.
And you think that created a global inflation crisis?
YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID!!!
It's price gauging!!! And because Republicans are blaming Democrats for it, they manufacturers and resellers can keep price gauging you.
Look at their record profits! Would they have them, if they were forced to increase prices, because of labor costs?
Of course they have some more costs, but most of it is energy,
because oil and natural gas companies are price gauging too. Look at their record profits.
You pay for their record profits, and until you see that, they will keep doing it. In any case, Trump has no plans at all to do something about it.
Funny how you right-wingers always talk about the 'free marketplace
of ideas', but you can't handle any idea that differs from your own.
The basis for that 'free marketplace of ideas' is arguing your ideas,
not trying to win points for your side in a battle of shouting and berating.
I'm sure you won't believe this, but if you make a good argument, based on facts and logic, which is stronger than counter arguments,
I am going to accept the truth of what that argument supports.
I have seen your side not accept anything, no matter the arguments.
At best your side stops arguing, but mostly what you just did.
I live in The Netherlands, where we had the same inflation.
In fact, that inflation was EVERYWHERE.
Conclusion: Biden did not cause the inflation.
We blame biden because he could have put policys in place that would reduce our energy cost which in turn would reduce alot of other cost.
But no, he pushes for wind mills and shit while we pay more and more and are fucking literally SITTING ON TOP OF all the resources we need right here at home.
Your little country has few resources and no one trying to find any so you are at the mercy of everyone else.
Everything was put on hold and energy consumption dropped like a rock. Remember the oil price being even negative for a while?
A lot of the oil production was being paused, making the price go up again. Then the crisis was over, energy consumption went up, but oil production was intentionally not ramped up. They wanted to hike up the prices to recover their losses. High energy costs have an impact on the complete production chain. Producers however increased the prices more than their costs had gone up, to also recover their losses. However, when everyone started to blame inflation, instead of manufacturers price hiking, they took advantage of that and kept price hiking. Profits are now through the roof, but they keep prices high. You don't blame them, you blame Biden, so why would they not keep screwing you, if you don't blame them?
An extra effect is REAL inflation, which we don't have in Europe.
That is caused by DEBT. Trump increased the debt by 8 Trillion dollars.
That has caused devaluation of the dollar against other currencies.
So, not Biden, but Trump!
These are things that you can just read about. Why don't you know it?
I live in The Netherlands and I just typed this from memory.
Question; did Trump ever say what he is going to do about inflation?
I have only heard him say; vote for me and I'll fix it.
Is that a plan? They guy has never explained any plan EVER!
Still waiting for his Obama care replacement idea?
I would not want my government to cancel what I have,
before they can explain what they are going to replace it with.
Kamala says she's going to handle the price hiking consumers.
She's talking about the ACTUAL problem. That would give me more confidence that she would be able to do something about it.
My country had the largest natural gas field in Europe, in Groningen.
The problem is that after extracting 82% of it, the pressure is reduced, the ground is sinking and houses are damaged by earthquakes. That's why the government was forced to put the extraction at almost zero. There is still a smaller natural gas field under the North sea, but that is a very busy sea route. There is some natural gas under the Wadden sea, but that is a nature reserve and UNESCO world heritage. It's probably going to happen anyway.
You are sitting on top of a lot of oil and natural gas, but the large majority of it requires fracking now. That is expensive and pollutes the soil, water and air. That is a cost that they don't calculated, but it will be a cost on the American people eventually, like for example, when you pay for tapwater.

This birthday is celebrated differently from any other as it marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood.[2] Historically, in the years prior to their 15th birthdays, girls learned about cooking, weaving, and childbearing from the elder women in their communities in preparation for their future roles as wives. During the celebration the girl's father would present her to potential suitors."
So uh? what say ye?
It goes on to say this type thing was done in europe to.
So why is it,I am the only 1 that is square?
it seems I am in line with millions of people all over the earth.

Never heard of 'Holy Communion'? In the Catholic Church, it's for children of 12 y.o.
They often even dress them as brides and grooms. Isn't that suspicious?
It's all based on ancient pagan fertility rites. A long time ago, when they replaced pagan religions with Christianity, the population didn't want to give up all their rituals. That's why there are Christianized fertility rites, where children just before fertile age are dressed up like they are going to be married. They probably were in pagan times.
That's why Eastern is at spring, when pagans celebrated a spring festival of renewal and rebirth, with young animals and green twigs, which many still do. Where do you think the Easter bunny and Easter eggs come from? That's not in the Bible.
It's why Christmas is around winter solstice (shortest day), which was a pagan holiday, celebrated with candles and an evergreen tree. Also not in the Bible.
