Your views, thoughts or simply opinions. The Economy is not well (understatement). I know there are some here that will try to link the country they are residing in as problems of the USA. Sorry the USA cannot be responsible for 100% of the problems in the world nor should they be expected to help repair all problems.

i posted a couple links the other day, apparently no one read them. the idea is working, just not as fast as it should.
it is bringing people to the table, it will improve our exports because countries will stop penalizing their citizens for buying our products. didn't you read what i posted about canada dairy products? they can't import but a small amount of our stuff and then it all gets hit with huge tarrifs whereas we only tarrif about 40% or less if we go over the quouta.

it will improve our exports because countries will stop penalizing their citizens for buying our products.

First, what products do we make that other countries want except for agriculture? Second, we consume almost 80% of products wholy or partially made outside of the USA. How does putting a tax paid by Americans on those products going to a) help trade and b) help keep or lower the prices of goods in this country?
The Clown ran on and was elected on the promise to "curb the Biden inflation. Show me how he's doing that NOW, not 5 yrs down the road. Why are his policies making our economy flirt with a 1929 style depression? Where are we better off than January 19, 2025?
What will it take for you and all the other Clown defenders to realize he doesn't know what he's doing?
And, finally, remember when you and Tecsan and all the other MAGA/Republicans would say Biden's poll numbers were really bad and no one wanted him? Well, guess what. The Clown's numbers are the worst of any president, barr none.

student loans being sent to collection agencys, way past due for that to happen.

criminals being removed from the country, way past time for that to happen.

I know it doesn’t matter to you at all. However, the majority of the people of this country STRONGLY DISAPPROVE with your take on the Clown’s performance. His approach to solving real, and more to the point, fake problems is tantamount to a surgeon removing a leg to cure an ingrown toenail.
The problems you are concerned about are real. Many people agree with you, but, he’s destroying the economy, making our country a pariah among nations, and causing untold misery. And for what? So a septuagenarian can say his cojones are bigger (they are not)?
My suggestion to you is for you to start looking at what’s more important for this country to go forward.
What a strange idea that a president must be doing well, if most people hate his guts. I think it's very disrespectful towards your countrymen: they damn-well understand when a president is doing a good job for the country or not.
They see he is destroying a lot, and all you can say is that is a good sign.
It is only a good sign for people who want to destroy your country.
Why do you want to destroy your country? Is that MAGA?

You voted in a president who acts like a dictator.
Have you seen any dictatorship where you would like to live?

Trump is the best friend to Putin. Would you like to live in Russia?
Do you understand why East German people were so happy when the Berlin wall was toppled over? You want to build such a wall around you.

well to be more specific, it is great that he is pissing off the democrats for sure.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 30,Apr,25 05:06 other posts
I know that this is your most important "policy", but it's not Making America Great.
Democrats actually care about grocery prices and providing for their kids (too).

You seem to not care to live in a dictatorship, as long as it pisses off democrats.
Is there still a part of you that cares about FREEDOM? At all?
Or is hurting "the others" the only thing you still care about?

This is the Financial Times recognizing Trump as a dictator:
"Once Trump has most law firms, universities, news organisations and private companies under his thumb, it will become almost impossible for any form of opposition to gain traction. His weaponised Department of Justice can arrest protesters and there will be fewer lawyers to defend them. University research and academic discussion of ideas that run counter to the Trump ideology will be threatened. Private companies will not object as the rule of law collapses. This is not some innovative new strategy — it is the global playbook for democratically elected leaders who want to stay in power forever."

High Tariffs Only Enforced over Quota Thresholds
only registered users can see external links

"The maximum tariff rates for multiple U.S. dairy products exported to Canada do approach or exceed the 250%-270% range. For example, as of Jan. 1, the maximum Canadian import tariff was 245.5% for cheese and curd, 298.5% for butter, and 241% for liquid milk.

However, Trump failed to mention that these large tariffs are levied only if U.S. dairy exports exceed a predetermined quota."

'Nicholson told us that the Canadian government implemented import quotas to increase the competitiveness of the nation’s domestic dairy industry through a supply management system. By limiting dairy imports through quotas, the Canadian government aids domestic producers by increasing minimum dairy prices. Kirsten Hillman, the Canadian ambassador to the U.S., told CBS News on March 9 that the quotas seek to “protect our farmers and families.”
in other words government price gouging.
and look at the tarrif numbers for dairy coming into the us,
it is subject to over-quota tariffs of about 24%, or up to 39%.

see the unfair difference.

so in other words, canada limits it's consumers ability to purchase American products by limiting the amount imported to the country and would punish it's consumers with the high tariffs if people wanted to buy them. so much for free trade when you are limited as to how much you can get.

How much money could the US save if they granted freedoma nd full indepence to all the US territories? American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands

wow, just 1 act passed in government has spent a lot of money. nearly a billion just in infrastructure.

google result,

As of January 22, 2024, federal agencies had committed approximately $940 million in funding to the U.S. territories through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). This translates to roughly $262 per person living in the territories. The Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) provides discretionary funding to these territories, including American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Additionally, discretionary funding is also provided to the freely associated states of the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

look at these numbers,
only registered users can see external links
$4,500,000,000.00

perhaps Elon is looking in the wrong places to save money.
giving these places independence would free up alot of funding that could house homeless veterans and feed many hungry people here in the US.

for whatever reason google does not give me any results to help when i ask what is gained by the citizens of the 50 states from keeping up these territorys.

why? is it not cheaper to send prisoners down there than for us to have to keep them up here in the US? we should farm out out most of our prison system to the cheapest bidder. anyone going in for a year or more gets sent out of the country to the cheapest contractor. when they do come home , i bet they won't commit any more crimes because they will not want to go back. why would you want to leave a US prison>? cable tv,climate control, free rubbers, 3 meals a day and a gym. if you are a lazy low life criminal, that is heaven is it not>?
By kebmo [Ignore] 16,Apr,25 18:56 other posts
Unlike Canada, prisons (and healthcare) in the US are businesses. Businesses do not like having their business sent out of the country. If you send the prisoners out of the country to the lowest bidder, US companies will suffer and their employees would get laid off.
By CAT52! [Ignore] 16,Apr,25 20:19 other posts
Phart, if you believe that then why don't you go out and Rob a bank? Free tv, peanut butter sandwiches, companionship, sex. Just your thing. Oh, BTW, you can burn the Constitution to keep warm.
By phart [Ignore] 16,Apr,25 22:53 other posts
i would rather be a bit free'er as in being able to achieve higher goals and help my neighbors.
google ai result
"It's difficult to pinpoint an exact number of employees specifically working in high-security prisons in the US. However, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports 387,500 Bailiffs, Correctional Officers, and Jailers were employed in 2023. This includes all levels of security, but a large portion would be working in prisons, including high-security ones. Within this group, 16,700 are specifically bailiffs and 370,900 are correctional officers and jailers. Additionally, within the Federal Bureau of Prisons, there are over 34,000 correctional officers and staff."

so if we were to send off all the major league felons, at the most a half million folks might need to transfer to another job. and besides, they would be needed to safely transport the crooks to the ships, guard them on the ships during transport and transfer over to the contractor, so there may not be that many jobs to transfer after all.

you know,in typeing that i just came up with a great idea, use decommissioned cruise ships as prison ships. they already have hospitals ,swimming pools and separate rooms, you could just drive it out about 100 miles off the coast, and let who ever gives the cheapest price keep it in service. where would a inmate go if they tried to escape>? swim a 100 miles to shore>?

Not wanting criminals from other countries to live in the USA is a good idea. I believe that the American public wants that, BUT, in a lawful manner. This administration is hell bent on trashing the Constitution and our country’s rule of law. Give everyone a chance to defend themselves in a court of law. If rhey are found to be eligible for deportation then, so be it. However, repatriate them to the country they came from. Not to gulag in the middle of a Central American jungle.
By phart [Ignore] 19,Apr,25 17:29 other posts
honest question here, how can you or our government tell where any particular person is actually from>?>

it is safer to err on the side of safety for the American people than on the side of a illegal alien.

So you are saying that racial profiling is okay. All right.ets say officer ICE detains a Mr Somebody on suspicion. Suspicion of what? Does he have a warrant? And if he does and still detains an innocent man, are you saying it's okay to ship him to El Salvador without Mr Somebody getting a chance he's not a terrorist or some malevolent individual?

damn thing, i didn't mean to minus 1 on your post.
but you still did not answer my question.

how else could you confirm where someone is from>? dna test?
ukrainians and russians look the same, speak the same language. so if 1 or the other comes here by swimming over the border, and you want to send them back, of course they don't want to go, so they will lie thru their teeth to stay.

if you were kidnapped today, and shuttled to mexico and dumped on the street wearing a sheet and flip flops, you might be able to quoute the constitution word for word but so can millions of other people all over the world,so how would you confirm you are from florida>? your skin and eyes would help eliminate japan as a home country and so on.
criminals that are here illegally, don't have any rights. so why the concern?rights apply to citizens.
By CAT52! [Ignore] 20,Apr,25 12:44 other posts
You are missing the point. It's up to the Justice Department to identify, in some manner, who they suspect someone is an illegal or undesirable alien. Picking up people on the street because they are brown skinned, have tattoos, or have native Central American features is not right, but, even if they do, then these people should have their day in court. I live in a multi-cultural city and many, many people are first, second, or third generation Americans. Born and bread here.many have the features I listed. You don't send Italians or Irish or any other group to El Salvador. Why them?
By phart [Ignore] 20,Apr,25 17:53 other posts
do you have any idea how long it would take with the slow ass court system in this country to go thru all these immigrants>?
they came in in droves during the night and you want to send the out 2 a day for the next 70000 years.in other words, you essentially support criminal illegals being here, because they would have to eat, sleep and somewhere.and if we put them in a place where they could work while waiting and recoup their cost to the system you would get pissed off about that.
By CAT52! [Ignore] 20,Apr,25 18:45 other posts
I don't care how long it takes for justice to be applied. If speed is your concern than you should petition Congress to pay FOR MORE PEOPLE to handle the situation. As far as working, didn't you hear about giving them a conditional release to work (and pay for their upkeep) while waiting on the outcome?
Putting them in a place where they could work is called SLAVERY. There goes that pesky Constitution again.

I think we can expect a major change in policy

Comparatively, the TSX, the main Canadian stock exchange is down
2.79% in the last six months. We always come along for the American ride because our economies are so intertwined.

Canadian travel to the US is down so much the Canadian airlines are rescheduling flights from the US to places lake the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, and Europe for the summer vacation months.
Day trips to the US are down substantially as well. Canadians are genuinely concerned about their personal safety in the US. That is not unreasonable considering the current situation in the US regarding people from other countries.

We don't want an unscheduled side trip to El Salvador!
