Does everyone realize that if you drive through standing water up over your wheels and your car stalls out then you already ruined your engine
Most cars have their fresh air ducts low in the grill so if you went in to deep the motor sucks in water locking it tight so prepare to need another engine put in
I won’t even go through puddles with my car that sits low to the ground, not because air intake, which I have ram air through the top of my hood, but my alternator sits low underneath the car and I drove through a deep puddle and submerged my alternator and it burned out. $240 dollars for a new one.
Please say it louder for those in the back!
We have issues with this every time it floods around here.
I know 1 ol gal was cheating on her husband, drove her Pontiac grand safari off into the water over the road, as it floated, a couple guys from the fire dept tried to grab her,
"oh husband will kill me for ruining the car anyway," she sunk and died, Apparently she was half right, the husband was pissed about the car,and although it went down 10 feet ,full submerged, the family retrieved it and drove it to the funeral 5 days later, and drove it another 10 years!!
No, she won't, sad thing is it really bothered the 2 guys that tried to save her. They finally just left the fire service and alot of training left with them. they said they wished they had just done what you do as a life guard and punched her lights out and then drug her on out. They couldn't quite get to her but they coulda wacked her with a stick or something, and saved her, sounds strange but hey, you do what ye gota do
This morning I’m heading out to Florida and my “plan” was to leave when I woke up. I’ve been awake for about 30 minutes, or so, but my plan seems to not be working…. I think I’m gonna wait until 7:30 or 8 o’clock when it’s light out……
This is funnier than all get out! Is this thing even “road worthy” and will it withstand the elements? The darn thing looks like it’s made from cardboard but logically, I know it can’t be.
appears to be luon "spelling" a very thin wood. I doubt it would hold up very long. but hey, if it held up for a month long road trip, probably will pay for it's self.
Are you invited to a Halloween party and expected to come in a costume? No problem! You’re just a garbage bag away from being something an ostrich! Check it out, the exposed arm and hand are the neck and face and the rest of you is covered by the plastic bag! My opinion, super creative!
I wonder if it is possible to notify members that their Forum post received a [+] or [-]?
My guess is that if it is possible that it could be incorporated and rolled into a notification similar to that received by a GROUP moderator who receives notifications of a new member joining and/or new post made within said group.
yea, sorda my thinking. I accidentally hit it and usually it is the minus i hit trying to clic around on a page then i have to scramble to go back and fix it. i really don't even know what it is for but for example i wouldn't want to minus 1 of the post on this thread,
Why would you want to [-] or [+] a post made? Because you may want to show the poster that support their thought and/or idea without verbalizing, that’s why! I’m not going to divulge the name(s) of the member(s) that I notice do use this feature HOWEVER I will share one name and hope that he understands and “forgives” me……. BirdDog
Why does he use it? I don’t know and I haven’t asked him. Perhaps he doesn’t want to get caught up in the BS that is often associated with or aired in the Forum but it is appreciated when I see that he weighs in on certain matters! Here’s a question for you, why do YOU feel that it’s necessary to respond to every post or poster that you agree or disagree with? Why not just hit [-] and LET IT GO?
I would agree that not many members use the feature however there are members that feel more comfortable using that method rather than making an actual post.
Unfortunately, rather than implementing a notification message, the entire [+] or [-] system was removed and that is regrettable.
Regardless, thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Not entire. I left it for threads where people will not press it by mistake.
Out of 480 thousand comments only 16 thousands had rating. I.e. less than 4%. And only 900 comments had rating more than +1 which suggest the rest was also mostly rated by mistake.
I don't think it worth it. Once I saw dgraff's complain above I realized that it's more of a hassle than of use.
Well, it was so close to the reply button that if your mouse wiggled just a bit, boom, you gave a post a minus. and I wouldn't want to put a minus on most of the post here,if i don't like it i just don't reply
They don’t make cars the way they used to! And I do believe that is a Corvair in front of the Impala, yes?
I have ALWAYS been interested in cars! Back in the day, you know, a hundred years ago, when me and my girls would go “cruisin’ “ on the weekend looking for trouble and boys, I was able to identify cars. You know, so-and-so drove a black 442 or that so-and-so drove a dark green Chevy Nova…… BOOM! I was locked in!
I luv the old cars too, I’m still looking for a pre 1972 ( no polution controll ) car 🚗 to cruise around in on the weekends, has to be a hot rod, I enjoy the looks and the attention they get while driving around in. But here in s. Florida, you have to carry a gun when driving a nice car because it will be taken away from you at gunpoint which happens here too often especially if your driving a vette or Ferrari or other exotic cars.
I love, love, love old cars that have been restored.
I went to a local car show several weeks ago and there were some beauties! There were some new cars, too. Somebody had a new Corvette on display and if I’m not mistaken, the Vette looks like it was sporting a small “trunk”’area. I guess it is no different than mine but area was an open area directly behind the seat which could hold both top panels (I had a T-top) and I can’t remember if there were 2 or 3 compartments, again, directly behind the seats, one held the battery and the other was like a “glove box”….
I really wish GM had kept the Corvette along the same lines as it has always been and created a new model for this new radical design they have now. i understand they want to compete with and be more affordable and similar to the high end european and italian cars but it just is to far over the top for a vette. And I guess it has alot to do with the fact it was the style that was in while I was in school and the first 1 i ever rode in, i prefer the 84-85 model years. Not their best years i understand but i like the look
I had a 60 Chevy impala i miss the old cars so much this crap 💩 they make nowadays my daily driver right now is an 89 Oldsmobile cutlass with antique tags on it so I can get away with out state inspection and emissions inspection
luv that idea, I have a couple oldies for that same reason. that emissions shit is a scam anyway, last time 1 of my cars was tail pipe tested, it's last test before becoming exempt, i deliberately left the bad spark plugs in it as it fouled them alot since it had over 300,000 miles on it,it PASSED running on 5 cylinders. yep, all it is is money, that was over 20 years ago and the car still runs..
“ Hey honey , was machst du”
Uh, can someone translate that for me?

Are you able to determine who’s who by viewing their rear end?
