I went to the oddest Walmart today in Cape Coral! Odd, you say……. Yes! It was only a “market” and sold only food, no other “stuff”.

Yes, it’s a chain of Walmarts called neighborhood market We have one here about five miles down the road.

Those neighborhood Walmarts don’t pay shit, I have a friend who worked at Winn Dixie for 38 years and recently got laid off, so he got a job at Walmart, he was there for about five years stocking and moved to meat cutter, he just quit because he was only making $12 dollars an hr. He is now at Publix and with his experience they started him out at $20 dollars an hr as a stocker with a top pay for that job at $24 dollars an hr. Walmart pays there stockman very low wages.

I should have known there was something "different" about this Walmart when I pulled into the parking lot and it WAS NOT huge.
By Cody8789 [Ignore] 01,Apr,25 00:32 other posts
I enjoy the one stop shopping at a regular Walmart where I can find almost everything I need so I don’t have to spend my whole day off shopping and driving around town getting what I need.

So you have a Walmart "market" about 5 miles away? Approximately how long has it been there? I wonder why they didn't open the typical Walmart, the kind that sells food and "stuff"? When I think of Walmart, I think of a store that sells miscellaneous items, like the concept of K Mart (when it was thriving) and Target. Both of those stores then added a grocery line to some of their select stores. Strange, Ive never considered food shopping at Target!

In Cape Coral, there's something called SPROUTS about 1 block away. I had to Google it and apparently they are considered a "farmer's market".....I wonder what that's all about. Have you heard about SPROUTS?

Sprouts near Target has limited selection but prices are good

I love Sprouts for their specialty foods like artichokes.

I am a Michigander and when I think of “farmers market”, I think of fresh grown produce. Yes, there was produce but I wanted to see MORE! I wanted to see a larger assortment of melons and berries , probably because that’s what I was shopping for.

Never heard of sprouts, the neighbors (Walmart) has been here in fl. At least 10 years maybe as long as 15. I have a few friends that work there and they hate the management because they are very abusive towards there employees.
Yes. WM is better though
By bella! [Ignore] 01,Apr,25 21:35 other posts
Better is a subjective term……. I shopped at SPROUTS today and was impressed. They tag themselves as being a “farmer’s market”, their produce was organic, their meat was labeled hormone/antibiotic free. There was a nice selection of fresh coffee beans and bread items. I must admit, in MY MIND, I was anticipating a much larger selection of produce.

Try "Whole Foods" if you have one. Better than "Sprouts" in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice!

I had no idea that being a Prime member would afford me any other benefit beyond Amazon. Thank you for all the info! Now I’m going to have to decide whether going into Fort Myers is worth the additional 10% discount .

we all have those moments. right at the moment since pollen is driving my allergys crazy i have been using nyquil to go to sleep.
By whatsupcocks [Ignore] 02,Apr,25 10:39 other posts
I have them as well. They don't seem as bad as last spring. When grass pollen starts up that's when I start sneezing my head off. Sometimes I will sneeze like 6 + times in a row. I have almost sneezed myself right of the road before.

What's up with the profile belonging to bbwfatpig? It is obvious that the MAJORITY of the current posted pictures are pinched from the internet. And if that isn't crazy enough, the profile holder enters the pinched pictures in photo contests and you knuckleheads allow those pictures to win!

Several things I’ve noticed while being in Florida;

• so much traffic
• people are in a hurry
• so many folks speed
• many folks disregard the traffic signal (red stop light) and just blow through lights

i wouldn't mind a electric for a novelty more or less, but not to rely on.
By CAT52! [Ignore] 26,Mar,25 14:29 other posts
I don't like EV's due to range between charges. We take too many trips that are more than 350 miles and on the road charging is a major hastle. Having said that, my son and both of his brother-in-laws own EV's (not Teslas). They use it in the city, have home chargers and only need to charge them once a week. In the city they have no problems at all. All three are new cars with full guarantee. So, we'll see how it goes.
