So much STUFF on YouTube is about the death of Ozzy Osbourne. Apparently, there’s some thought that his spouse, Sharon, wants to bury him in their “garden” because she wants to keep him near. My guess is their “estate”’sits on a good deal of land so it’s not a matter that his final resting place is smack dab under the bedroom window or somewhere next to the garage. Princess Diana was interred on family property and so was Elvis.

I Google’d this about burial in the United States;

“In most U.S. states, burying a body on private property is technically legal, meaning there aren't specific state laws prohibiting it, but local regulations and zoning laws often create significant hurdles. These local rules can dictate burial depth, distance from water sources, and other factors. Additionally, even if state law allows it, you may still need to involve a funeral director and obtain permits for burial and transportation.”

well, as long as it's done right, its better than what the yahoos did next county over. a bunch of folks that don't get out much ,their dad died, they just salted him down, wrapped him in burlap and stuck him under the porch. nothing fishy about the death,no reason not to do things different. sheriff finally drove out there and told them they would have to bury him.so they dug a hole out back and put him in. they said their dad didn't want any funerals and all that exspense.

WOW, THAT’s CRAZY! I understand their father’s “wishes” but how can his children take his wishes so literally!?

How many of you remember the cartoon series, The Jetsons? I do! How many are aware that The Jetsons is set in the year 2062? Do you realize 2062 is only 37 years from now? Do you think that it’s possible in 2062 that we will be traveling in flying “cars”?
By kebmo [Ignore] 23,Jul,25 17:32 other posts
I loved the Jetsons! The reverse of the Flintstones. I think that flying cars would cause way too many accidents in the sky and when they crash they will fall to the ground on people so I don't think the concept is feasible. How would they design lanes? What about the birds? The trees? How would the cops pull someone over?
We already have 'flying cars'.
only registered users can see external links

I asked ChatGPT if the series ever described the technology of the Jetsons' aero-cars. It said "The 1980s revival briefly alluded to “ion propulsion” and “gravity-control technology” in toy and book tie-ins, but never in televised episodes."

Ion propulsion exists, but the maximum trust they ever realized was ~5 Newtons (≈ 510 grams) in the lab. They will never use it for flying cars, because if they make it strong enough, it will burn, vaporize or irradiate everyone in the jet-stream, a long way away.

“gravity-control technology” / 'anti-gravity' is probably not possible in physics. Gravity is misunderstood as a force. The latest insights in physics shows that gravity is the 'curving' of space-time, by a mass. Other masses just want to move along the 'curve'. If you are the object, that wants to move along the 'curve', but your movement is obstructed by a floor,
or the Earth itself, then it feels like a force. The only way to have anti-gravity, is to invent 'negative mass' (exotic matter). The laws of the universe probably don't allow it. Not even anti-matter would move in the opposite direction, in gravity. Even if it would be possible,
it would probably take ridiculous amounts of energy. That would be a stupid waste, when propellers, jet-engines, or rockets do a better job for less energy.

Maglev (magnetic levitation) could be a technology that looks like anti-gravity, but it always has to push against something else. You would be flying above some metal thing, magnets or coils. That would look very much like what the Jetsons have, but you wouldn't be flying freely where ever you want. It's basically following a road or rails. That doesn't have much added benefit of losing the wheels, just extra costs. That's why maglev trains never really took off.

Then there is the economic argument: sure, some people will be able to afford a flying car, but with the capitalist system, that's now and probably will be for ever, only available for a small group of rich people. The benefits of labor aren't equally distributed, for everyone to enjoy something as expensive as a flying car. AI might increase the productivity of labor,
or even eliminate most labor, but with the ideas that are currently ruling society, that just means even wealthier elites and fucking lots of starving people.
By phart [Ignore] 28,Jul,25 11:14 other posts
no better than some people can drive, do you really want them flying??
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 28,Jul,25 15:08 other posts
No, that would be an incredible mess, but that was not the topic at hand.

In The Jetsons (the 1960s and 1980s cartoon), their flying “aero-car” (or “aero vehicle”) is mostly guided by an automatic system/computer, though George Jetson sometimes manually operates it for comedic effect.
By t-rex [Ignore] 28,Jul,25 19:46 other posts
I think we will be there with flying vehicles in 37 years, I might not see them, but I think it would be so cool 😎

how many of these do you do>?

i know for sure that number 1,2, 4, 8 are common place for me. if i became a millionaire tommorow, i would not change alot of my habits. no need to waste money. i never buy new clothes except socks and underware, never buy new vehicles, machines, if i can build ,repair ,or buy second hand.cheaper.
i do still own my first car to.

people that struggle in life money wise that work, may have their standards set a bit to high.
i know a fellow, makes 29 dollars a hour, gets per deem for travel, and still can't make his bills. i scratch my head as i watch him put worn out used tires on his jeep to get to work, poor as i am i can at least buy a safe tire.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 28,Jul,25 04:21 other posts
Your whole support for the capitalist model is based on millionaires and billionaires spending and investing in the economy. If you became a millionaire tomorrow,
but you would not change a lot of your habits, then you wouldn't be fulfilling your
capitalist responsibility of spending and investing in the economy.

That's why I support the socialist model, in which all profit flows back to the public capital. Then we, the people, spend and invest that money wisely in everything that benefits ALL
of us, and eliminate the economic waste of millionaires and billionaires NOT fulfilling
their capitalist responsibility of spending and investing in the economy wisely.

Hulk Hogan was the most famous wrestler ever. I always loved to see him.
It was decades later that I found out that he wasn't a very nice human being.
No reason to hate him or be happy that he died, but not much reason to mourn him either.

Face it, you don't believe in God either.

Darante’ LaMar exposes the quiet truth that many believers avoid: most people who claim to believe in God don’t actually live by it.
only registered users can see external links

If your life isn't centered around your belief and your devotion to secure a place in heaven, then you really don't believe that your life is just a test for you to get into heaven.
What could be more important, if you really believed this to be true?
We're talking about ETERNITY, aren't we?

Your belief is probably not even strong enough, to invest the time into watching the video.

As an atheist, I watched the whole video, and asked myself if I am still very sure that I don't believe in God. I'm am sure enough to gamble ETERNITY on it... What are you doing,
when you are claiming to believe? What is it, that you do believe, and why?
You don't have to answer me. Aks and answer yourself.

(With 'you' I'm addressing everyone who claims to believe in God)

For 10 years I have eaten oatmeal crisp cereal with blueberries and yoghurt for breakfast. When blueberries are expensive I buy frozen but last week I bought two packs of 2 pounds each for five dollars each. For this time of the year (in Alberta) that is $10 well spent. They do get cheaper later in the season but this is a good price for now.
If you leave them in the plastic package that they came in and put them in the freezer they freeze well. They will last a few weeks like that.

the fact he discussed a settled lawsuit may have been the issue with what you are calling a joke. when you settle a lawsuit, part of the deal is to shut up about it. no real loss if he's gone off tv anyway.

By phart [Ignore] 21,Jul,25 14:35 other posts
if it was equal laughing at both sides, that is fair play. but it is always 1 sided.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 21,Jul,25 15:19 other posts
There's no equal reason to make fun of both parties.
Republicans are just way more evil and ridiculous.
Humor is a tool to defend democracy. Republicans are attacking it.
They have not "gone left", they have been traditionally left, for a long time.
That's because it's made by 'left' or liberal channels.
Why should they create "equal laughing at both sides". Your side wouldn't.

Also, a right-wing version doesn't work. They fail to be funny.
That's mostly because the left punches up and the right punches down.
That turns cringe very easily.

Right-wing media has tried at least 7 attempts to replicate The Daily Show with
a right-wing voice. They have spent lots of money trying. It's just often a loss,
because people don't watch it and advertisers don't want to advertise on it.
- The 1/2 Hour News Hour
- NewsBusted
- The Flip Side
- Gutfeld!
- Tyrus and Timpf (segments)
- The Babylon Bee
- Louder with Crowder
- JP Sears / AwakenWithJP
- PragerU Shorts / Satirical Videos

Gutfeld! is a notable exception, a Fox News late-night show hosted by Greg Gutfeld.
It leans conservative, mixes humor and commentary, and performs well in ratings.
But its humor is often blunt, more like political snark than layered satire.
It lacks the viral sketch/monologue appeal that drives Daily Show clips online.

You even acknowledge that you don't think it's funny. That's not because they are not funny, but because right-wingers don't like that type of humor.

Left-Leaning Audiences: Seek irony, ambiguity, character-driven mockery.
Right-Leaning Audiences: Prefer clarity, affirmation, punditry.
There's character differences between right-wingers and left-wingers.
Honestly, I think right-wingers are just not smart enough for satire.
"when you settle a lawsuit, part of the deal is to shut up about it"
Not necessarily, and not in this case.

First of all, this was a shakedown. Even if CBS cut the 60 Minutes interview, Fox'News' heavily edited Trump interviews, in multiple instances.
Trump didn't have any chance of winning this case, he was just interested in pumping up the legal costs for CBS. They only settled, because continuing would have costed more. It's mostly a giving him a win, to get Trump off their backs.
There was no admission of guilt, Paramount did not apologize or admit wrongdoing,
but committed to releasing transcripts of future “60 Minutes” interviews with presidential candidates. That's a dereliction of duty to their first amendment right.
In any case, this settlement didn't contain a gag order of any kind.
Look it up! It's just Trump cracking down against free speech.

Whatever….the stock market is at records highs and the Dems don’t know what to do.
--------------------------------------- added after 3 minutes

A strong stock market, often characterized by rising stock prices and increased investor confidence, generally indicates economic growth, positive corporate performance, and increased consumer spending. It reflects optimism about the future direction of the economy and is a leading indicator of potential economic expansion.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 22,Jul,25 03:17 other posts
Are YOU profiting from the stock market?
People voted for Trump, because they cannot afford GROCERIES!
If you say 'My 401K', you're gonna need it, when Social Security is destroyed.

"potential economic expansion" Sure, if you had the people for those jobs. You have an incredible labor shortage. And Trump is kidnapping all those hard workers and putting them in a concentration camp. But, what is that "economic expansion" good for?
The US already had one of the highest GDPs in the world. You have lots of billionaires, but the people cannot afford food, rent, education and a decent life. If you managed to double the GDP, would you THEN have money for the average American and to reduce homelessness? Or will you just have a lot of trillionaires?

That stock crash is coming, don't you worry. Trump's handouts for the wealthy make them happy in the short-term, but your collapse of the middle class, rapidly increasing debt, your destruction of education and the rest of the world turning their backs on the US, will be the end of your economic dominance in the world. You rely too much on it. When it falls away, that's the end of your empire. China will take over. I was afraid of that before, but your turn to fascism makes me prefer them over you.
Between 1980 and 2020, China lifted over 800 million of their people out of poverty. What has the US done for its poorest people? Created more of them?

"the Dems don’t know what to do"
I totally agree with that. If people still +1 prefer Trump over them, that's complete
and utter incompetence. The Democratic party needs a complete overhaul.
By phart [Ignore] 22,Jul,25 07:04 other posts
my stock has been steadfast, only moving up and down a dollar or 2. makes good dividend, that is the benifit that helps me the most.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 22,Jul,25 09:34 other posts
And it did even better under Biden. Of course, Biden had the Covid recovery,
but Trump has fully created every dip in the stocks, since he was inaugurated.
Since Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025, the U.S. dollar has depreciated by approximately 10–11%, marking its worst start to a year in over 50 years.
The annual GDP growth is range from 1.4–1.7%, compared to 2.8% in 2024, highlighting a notable slowdown.

If you want to benefit from stocks, you have to buy and sell. Some stocks have good dividend, which is better than interest on a savings account, but owning individual stocks is also much more risky than a savings account. Dividend is only worth the risk, if you diversify or maybe better buy one or more dividend ETFs.

In any case, you might have some money, giving you some returns, but most Americans don't. The fact that it's the benefit that helps you the most, is exactly my point. You should have much more than that, in a country with one of the highest GDPs in the world.

So that hurt them, but the tariffs didn't? Something to do with oil?
In any case, that's very coincidental for you, but it's no trend that proves anything.
When Trump breaks your economy, they will all drop. What he's doing is not sustainable. (Not 'sustainable' environmentally, but economically)
Your economy cannot survive, when the middle class declines further.
When the rest of the world abandons you, it will all come crumbling down.

First your tariffs were intended to bring back manufacturing, but when that didn't work, the story switched to "it's a negotiation tactic". Is that working already? Meanwhile, you are paying for more expensive products and the US cannot sell theirs. Even if you did manage to make more in America, who is going to buy it? We won't and you can't, because you're getting poorer by the day.

"Since January 2025, inflation in the U.S. has risen modestly, reversing earlier improvements from late 2024. Cost pressures are intensifying due to tariffs,
food prices, and a stickier core inflation trend."

Tesla is an American car, but the tariffs on Chinese graphite
make every single car hundreds of dollars more expensive.

There is also a thing as retaliatory tariffs...
Harley Davidson revenue is down 23% and their motorcycle shipments are down roughly 33%, do to the EU's 50% tariff. It also prompted Harley‑Davidson to move production of EU‑bound bikes to Thailand.
