Well,14 is to young by American standards and laws and probably for many other countrys as well.And to young to be responsible for a baby and such in my opionion..
BUT if that sorda thing is normal and common there, then really she is technically in the wrong for running until legal means to change laws and customs are taken.
9000 dollars in Mexico is like a million dollars here in the US. The mother probably was looking to give a better life to the rest of the family at the cost of just 1 child instead of all living in poverty.
We can't change those peoples primitive ways and sadly they bring them across the border with them when they come to the US.
Sad to that the folks had already spent a small fortune to give the couple a good wedding and feast and party afterwards only to have it all canceled.

I doubt seriously anyone on this site can relate to the extreme poverty that poor woman has endured with a murdered husband and kids to feed. sell 1 kid, give a better life for the rest.She probably decided on the 1 that had the least chance of making on her own due to language and such to be married to make sure she was taken care of to some better degree than the mother could do on her own. We look at this from the outside thinking how terrible it is,but it looks worse from that side of the fence I am sure.

The parents should definitely be held accountable. They were remiss for buying a child a gun, they were remiss in not properly storing the gun in a safe and secure place. They were required to show up in court to be arraigned for involuntary manslaughter charges, but were on the run. In the end, their 15 year old son needs to receive mental health help that he needs and the parents need to be convicted and serve time.

There was one family that comes to mind that received a gift of a car. A young father and daughter were on their way home and unfortunately he didn't pay attention to an oncoming car. He turned in front of it, the car was T-boned on the passenger side, perhaps where his daughter was sitting. She was taken to the hospital and it was the next day or day after, her temperature spiked and it was determined that she had contracted sepsis. In order to save her life, her hand and arms below the elbow were amputated as well as her feet and legs below the knees.
