I see a current time and date stamp for the thread however there is no new comment. What is the deal?

I understand that threads are moved up when there is a renewed interest in the topic based on a comment but I think I saw close to 40 of leopoldij's threads "bumped" up and no new posts. Yeah, I had to log out to verify that.
Sometimes you can post but it doesn't actually post the comments into the thread....so the thread gets bumped without a comment present...
In some threads you might see an empty comment box...
99% of them did not attract members when he originally posted them and I wondered what could have changed between then and now. Obviously nothing!

I'm afraid you misunderstood the meaning of respect as used in the mantra "Respect has to be earned". What the lady whom you opened the door for, or the gentleman you pulled from the burning car, owes you, is gratitude. If they gave it to you or not has nothing to do with respect. You, opening that door is the respect you give to your mother for teaching you to be a gracious gentleman. You are paying homage to a woman that wanted you to be a better man and a champion of women. You, saving that man from a horrible death is the respect you bestow on your father and other people in your life that taught you that life is valuable and worth risking life and limb to preserve it. Respect is not something you accumulate because you need the recognition of doing something right. These days it seems people want to be first no matter what. Win at any cost. The me first generation, right? And you think that other generation was "the greatest generation"? There's nothing new in the world. It just seems like that. And you wanting or expecting a thank you for doing something that you should do no matter what, makes you one of them.
But I do know once I was offended bad.There is a fellow with birth defects as in his arms and legs are distorted to a point he is only about 3 feet tall and his arms are elbow length. I opened a door for him 1 day when it was pouring down ran and his response was "Fuck you" and he pushed the other door open and left me standing there looking stupid.
Others saw it and told me later that he is known for having a bad attitude and not pay him any attention.
But still, even the gal i held a door for last week that went thru the other 1,didn't cuss out loud. She made a gesture.
So does it pay to try to help others? I am starting to wonder.

You know, I have 2 male cats, both are neutered. I can't say that I've ever witnessed them licking their genitals or licking their butts BUT the bigger of the two does try to hump the other.

No, young women being d,rugged then r,aped. There was a specific article on one couple who were down there for their wedding. He was showering and she was snoozing and woke up to a hotel employee having his hands down her pants. She screamed, he fled, the soon to be husband tore after him, caught him and preceded to beat the ever-lovin' crap out of him. If memory serves me correctly, they were offered 15k to keep quiet. I don't recall whether that was cash money or if it was more of a "credit" to use when returning to one of the Sandals Resorts.
I never believe anything I read in the press, or on TV news. Actually, I haven't watched TV news for a couple of years, ever since our referendum on leaving the European Union was obstructed by our own Prime Minister, and still is, to this day. She should be sacked, but no Members of Parliament have the guts to 'stab her in the front'.
