I have procrastinated getting an enhanced driver’s license just because I tend to procrastinate about so much…… So there’s been this big push to get this “star” on your DL and I decided it’s time. Yeah, maybe not having an enhanced license was why I had a bit of difficulty when presenting my DL at the hospital in Florida as well as it being a valid piece of I.D. at the Xfinity store in Fort Myers. After all, the enhanced I.D. is only for flying within the United Stated and crossing the border into Canada and Mexico and I already have a valid passport!

Herein lays my problem, I CANNOT FIND MY PASSPORT! I know it wasn’t stolen, it is “misplaced” somewhere in my house. Has anyone ever misplaced a passport and if so, what did you do? I Google’d misplaced passport and the information only speaks to it being stolen and it was not stolen. Thanks for any help.

If your passport is missing, you should first report it lost or stolen to the local police and then apply for a new one through the U.S. Department of State. After reporting it, the old passport is no longer valid, and you'll need a new one to travel.
Be prepared to prove you are a US citizen with a birth certificate. Have a passport approved picture of you. Get paperwork from Post Office (I think you can still do so) and prepare to pay the normal fees. Last I checked it was around $175.
Right after you get your new passport, run, don't walk, to your local DMV to get your new and improved Drivers license. You may need your birth certificate too and, probably, proof of residence. Bank statement, electric bill etc.
I you can make appointments for these, do so. It's strongly recommended.
And keep ALL your important documents in the same place

Thank you for the info. Yesterday I was at the Secretary of State and “applied” for Michigan’s enhanced Driver’s License and used my social security card and my passport’s companion card (it’s a hard card like my Driver’s license and about the same size) as my “proof”. I just can’t imagine where I put my official Passport booklet. Thanks again for the info !

I believe those passport companion cards are not accepted anymore by some countries. Then, I don't think it's wise to travel outside the country right now.

Providing that the countries allow me to enter, the Michigan enhanced license will permit me to reenter the United States from land bordering countries, ie Canada from the north and Mexico from the south. Although I can’t remember exactly, there’s some island(s) too, probably Caribbean. I don’t have plans to travel at this time however I want to make sure that my passport issue is addressed and taken care of as soon as possible so that if I want to go or someone says “let’s go”, I can GO!

I was able to view it when you posted the second link. That horse and buggy went flying around that intersection. On a side note, I thought that I read somewhere that there is a good deal of drinking within the Amish communities. Could he or she been driving while intoxicated? Is their life too “simple” for you? The young Amish have the opportunity to leave, there’s an official name, to leave their community to live as “English”. This is supposed to help them to decide whether they want to remain Amish, or not. I believe that if they choose to live their life as English, they are shunned by their family and community. It must be a difficult decision for them to make, IF they choose a different lifestyle , they lose everyone and everything they had.

Canadian drivers licenses are issued by the home province of the user and if you don't have one or can't have one for medical reasons there is an official provincial identification card which has the same validity as a drivers license.
It must get renewed every five years and I suppose there are enhancements to it for security reasons.
There are different licenses for taxis, buses and trucks though.

it is just another level of confirmation of citizenship at the moment. but i think after the rush is over we will find it to be necessary for more than just airports and such. our social security numbers were never supposed to be used for id but here we are, yep they do. so i figure the enhanced license will become necessary. i don't mind except for the issues of getting certified copys of stuff instead of what has been used for years.

I believe that an enhanced license is nothing more than the state gathering more information on you. I had applied for passport so I was not caught up in that rush to be vetted by the state. IF we don’t have the STAR in the corner of our license, we would not be able to fly anywhere within the United States. I can’t recall when the enhanced driver’s license were first offered and I don’t recall why I didn’t apply for one initially however this last trip to Florida and back, has me convinced that I should leave one of my cars down there and fly to and from. It took me 3 days/2 nights, each way, and flying it will only take me 3 hours. I kept a journal of my gas and hotel expenses coming home and it was $471. Me and Kevin will drive down in October or November and my plan is to leave one of my cars there and fly home when the spirit moves me!

unless you can secure it and have it started once in a while during the summer or whatever, i don't know that it is a good idea to leave a late model car sit for so long. the computers will drain the battery for sure. dgraff can probably explain better. it is difficult enough to keep the battery up on a car you don't drive much sitting in the driveway

All you have to do is disconnect the negative cable and when you get back to the car, recharge the battery. Do not connect a low battery to your car or you will shorten the life of the alternator. So make sure the battery is fully charged b4 you start the car.

It looks like (and i'm not that sure about it) that you can click on an image and it takes you to that pic and comments from the subject,,,maybe answers too. They also have different departments like "boots" "boobs" etc so you can go to postings of that subject.

I don’t know is my answer to your last question. Except that maybe they are paid by sites for directing people to these regular porn sites through their links. Sites like SYD would not pay for people to be directed towards them via such links. I have certainly seen material from well known and established subscription websites on sites like Imageporn and they would not allow that without reason.
So the business model of imageporn maybe to attract people to their site as they have collated all these links into themes and hope that the punters who visit will click on the links and visit the sites who will then pay imageporn a certain amount for every 100 or 1000 or whatever, people who visit them via the links,
I may not have explained that very clearly but that would explain why SYD type sites don’t feature.
