From experience, dressing a deer, or any other animal, is a bloody, messy, and impressionable thing to do. It's nothing to be done in your front yard. Especially across the street from a school.

To some point people need to understand where meat comes from but not like that.
Reminds me of a old friend that said in the 60's when they made a run of moonshine, when they loaded it to go to town they ask the wives to clean up the still.
When the guys got back , the wives had the still apart in the front yard scrubbing it with brushes and hosepipes. Everyone in the world could see!. DUH>That put them out of the moonshine business for a while.

Field dressing is the bloody messy part but is done in the mountains were you shot it now butchering it is just skinning it and cutting the meat into steaks loins and hamburger in my day every kid 8 years or older knew how to do it and helped many times

My mistake. I should have said, "butchering". My Dad grew up in a farm and knew how to field dress and butcher animals. In all the time I can remember, he never once did his butchering in the front lawn. He never once asked any of us kids to help or watch. I know in ShitKicker areas, kids have more exposure to animal husbandry and meat preparation, but, again, not in the front yard and across the street from a school. It's common to breed livestock. Do you also advocate having a bull mount a cow or a stallion mount a mare in the front yard of a home across a school? How about the birthing of same? It seems to me that there's a lot of negative talk about transgenders, LGBTs, and non-traditional books, yet, something like this is ok? There's nothing that an adult can't watch. As adults we have the capacity to cope. Not so the young.

If they are to young no and i would never do anything like that in the front yard but i used to keep my younger brother home from school when i was butchering a deer he was the best skinner in the family he was so delicate and precise with a sharp knife and he was a big boy and plenty strong enough to pull the skin down as he trimmed it from the meat i even nick named him skinner my mom would run the grinder and my grandma would help me with the stakes it was a family affair and it put meat in the freezer

Well sadly these days they build new schools just about anywhere and sometimes they are near a cow or horse pasture. And oh my, they do decide to mate when their instincts tell them to do so.
